Pakistan have refused to play their World Cup games in India due to security fears (and rightly so), and have asked for the schedule to be modified so that their games are to be played in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

PCB is also still pursuing its legal action over not being able to host their allocation of games in the UAE.

Also, the government of Pakistan is considering to not allow the Pakistan team to play in the 2011 WC. There will be a meeting soon between the government and PCB to discuss that issue.

This is something that I just noticed - the BCCI's proposed FTP does not include any bilateral series against Pakistan from 2012 to 2020. The BCCI defend that FTP by saying that the Indian government would not allow the BCCI to host Pakistan, or for India to tour Pakistan.

Interestingly, India wants Pakistan to play its WC games in India for the 2011 WC, yet at the same time, Pakistan cannot tour India (or vice versa) from 2012 to 2020.

Hmm.

Am I reading this right?

Do you not think some Indians who still think Pakistan are to blame for 26/11 would not try to harm the team?

Or prehaps the fact that one of the major political parties of India want to declare war on Pakistan?

so what if they make it to the final? they wont play because its in Mumbai? This is a very blatant and cheap tactic to punish India for the ICC's decision to move games away from PAK. I am not a big fan of India but it is not their fault that you guys lost your home games, dont take it out on them. If you want security then the Indians will provide it, they have no lack of manpower or funds.

The ICC has mentioned that India has nothing to do with Pakistan losing their World Cup games. Ever since that attack on the SL cricketers happened, opinions on Pakistan hosting cricket changed in a big way. India didnt have bilateral series because they feel the situation is not likely to change in Pakistan. But just because of that, if Pakistan are not going to play WC games in India, its their loss. They dont have proof to suggest that India is trying to isolate Pakistan from international cricket. IT HAS NOT BEEN PROVED and I dont believe its true.

I wish the ICC schedules some of Pakistan's games in India and let them (Pakistan) decide what they want to do. If they dont want to play, let them forfeit it (or not play the World Cup at all).

Did Sri Lankan public or the political party harm you because your country attacked their cricketers (man, thats more serious)? Did they declare war on Pakistan?

Hold on here - the PCB and the people of Pakistan are not upset about not being able to host WC games in Pakistan.

The issue is this. India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka do not want Pakistan to host their allotted 14 games in the UAE - instead those countries want the games. We aren't trying to host games in Pakistan.

And Hmarkas - where was that security during 26/11 :sarcasm

Really now? Does the BCCI refusing to allow Pakistan to host its 14 games in the UAE have anything to do with that?

And what are you talking about, India not trying to isolate Pakistan? Surely if they are not trying to isolate Pakistan, they would include a provision to at the very least host Pakistan between 2012-2020 in India. Why hasn't that happened Sai?

Why is India safe enough to host Pakistan during the 2011 WC but not between 2012-2020? I mean honestly, I don't know how you can't see this happening.

I hope the ICC realizes that if India can't host Pakistan between 2012-2020, then India is probably not safe for Pakistan during the 2011 WC. There goes the WC final and semi-final.

When did our country attack their cricketers? Shouldn't we look across the border for that one (the eastern side of the border that is).

Besides Sai, you should know this as well as I do (even more in fact) - the BJP said if elected into power, it would go to war with Pakistan. You know it, and I know it. Now, while the BJP would never win an election (I hope people in India are smarter than that), they are a major political party of India, and there are people who do think like that.

Either way, it looks like the legal battle between PCB and ICC is to continue, and the PCB legally have a major case against the ICC - it looks like the PCB will win if they continue.

stop #ing this events like 9/11! ... there are lot of these kinda events. but not as big as 9/11.. so its hard to follow!

and if i can remember when NZ or some other teams refused to play in kenya the other team got points? if that happens for the Pak team, that would suck

1) World Cup games should only be held in countries that are taking part in the WC. UAE is not. You lost your games, deal with it.

2) I live in the US. We have exponentially more security after 9/11 and I am sure the Indians do after the Mumbai attacks. The victims of the Mumbai attacks were civilians who were not afforded the same security International cricketers will be.

No body wants to tour Pakistan, and if you cannot compromise and be willing to take some losses then I am afraid you will lose out on cricket.

Really now? Did you know in the 1999 World Cup, South Africa played Kenya at Amstelveen.

Which country is Amstelveen in? The Netherlands. Did the Netherlands take part in the 1999 World Cup? Nope.

And congratulations on living in the United States. Other than airport security, which has become of course 100 times stronger, nothing has changed (unless that is what you were referring to).

You obviously do not know anything about post 9/11 security and I do not appreciate the snide congratulations about living in the states. Everything from public schools to banks to water cleaning plants are fortified like armories now. You are obviously bitter and are projecting it on the wrong people. let PCB fight its legal battles with the ICC , you will see who wins in the end.

I can tell you, that unless you go to an inner-city high school, there are NOT armed guards sitting inside.

You have to be in a very shady area for that to happen, and it is not because of 9/11, but because of Columbine High School.

Banks naturally have security, please don't tell me they didn't have security before 9/11. I mean seriously... :laugh

Your argument about 9/11 is simply only valid for airports and buildings such as the Sears Tower. Schools - Columbine High School (1999). Banks - robberies prehaps? That has nothing to do with 9/11.

I like how when you lose an argument you just don't say anything, like the part about the 1999 WC, as well as the post-poll violence in Iran thread. It's entertaining.

What is entertaining is that you think anyone will every come to Pakistan ever again.
