I am fronting a new campaign to get part timers more recognition around the media..and the world.
I believe that all part timers are underrated.
I believe that part timers deserve awards.
I have a dream, that one day part timers and specialist bowlers will bowl in tandom with the new ball.
I have a dream, that all 11 players will bowl in one day matches around the world.
I have a dream, that ODI's alienate part timers.

I want to unite captains and make them bowl their keepers..

I would like to thank Ed Smith today.
His bowling line up read like this, for the 2nd innings against Notts..

Vaas
Murtagh
Kartik
Richardson
Dalrymple
Ed Joyce
Billy Godleman
Andrew 'the one and only' Strauss:hpraise:hpraise
Eoin 'the one and the other one' Morgan:hpraise
Ed Smith.

Andrew Strauss took his 2nd career wicket, his first was Kevin Pietersen, his 2nd...Stephen Fleming.
Eoin Morgan took 2 wickets.
I have made a trophy for the next captain to bowl all XI players, Ed Smith didn't bowl Scott, the Middlesex keeper, he does not recieve the award.

The reason for Scott not bowling may of been because Andrew Strauss didn't bring his gloves..:noway
Anyone else willing to join the part timers union?

*Back to seriousness*

There is a problem, England haven't used part timers in times where they were really needed, yes, your 1st string attack should take the wickets, but disrupt the flow of the bowlers, please.
The amount of times i've shouted 'IAN BELL!' at the TV screen, yet nothing really happens, in the recent Ashes series, the closest England got to a part timer was Pietersen.
Against India, Pietersen was brought on, and he took a wicket, in the tests, and in the ODI's.

Vaughan under uses himself in tests, although he does bowl quite a bit if their is a 2nd spinners place available.
Sometimes, something differant needs to happen on a dead track, again, i'll bring up Ian Bell, is there a reason why he hasn't bowled a bit more recently, a little niggle?
If he's fully fit I really think he should bowl a bit more often, he definately should of bowled in the Ashes series.
Cook could of bowled an over at one point.

Using part timers to make the attack differant, it's something that is almost ignored sometimes.
Just nterested if anyone elses agree with the Ian Bell thing.

It goes for any other team aswell, Graeme Smith likes to bowl part timers, a few years ago he actually bowled all XI bowlers and Mark Boucher took a wicket, the wicket Dwayne Bravo.
It just clicks sometimes.

Shane Warne did it for Hampshire last year. He bowled Nic Pothas with his pads on.

That would of been funny to watch. Do you know who the wicket-keeper was after Pothas was bowling?

The King of the partimers is Sachin Tendulkar. Leg breaks, off breaks, swingers, you name it. Laxman is underatted. I mean with his wrists and height, if he tried to bowl legbreask he's be awesome! And even his offies aren't bad.
And the Monk. He takes wickets when he wants to. Only part-time offspiner I've see who can beat the bat of full-time batsmen. And who can drift the ball. All hail the magic of the Monk...

Ponting is a brilliant part timer. ;)

Yes, he is. I have a VHS tape of VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid's record breaking partnership against Australia and Ponting had Dravid plumb twice while Dravid was in his fifties with late inswingers.

New Zealand had some class part timers in Nathan Astle and Craig McMillan,Gayle is probably the best around at the moment though.

Ponting also got Michael Vaughan out in the 2005 ashes series, the ball just did enough off the pitch and moved away and took the edge. He is a decent part timer.

Kevin Pietersen is an under-used part-timer imo. He started off as a primary offy and actually took quite a few wickets, including that of Michael Atherton in an England tour match when KP was playing in Australia. He gets turn and bounce, and if he was to put more practise in he could be pretty good, better than Vaughan anyway.

Michael Clarke a decent part timer?

6/9 ring a bell anyone?
And when Katich took 6/65. He actually averages under 40 in every form of the game in which he has bowled.

Do Darren Lehmann's 'straightbreaks' make him an all-rounder? He has 50 ODI wickets at 27.8 and economical at 4.8 rpo. 35 of them were top or middle order batsmen. His bowling is tidy and difficult to score from in all forms of the game, from 2.5 in Tests to 6.2 in Twenty20. He also has over a hundred domestic wickets.

1) Who's the Monk?

2) If what Sachin has been bowling this series is the norm, then he is an awful 'part timer'.

For me the the bowlers are in the team to take wickets, yes use part timers, but only in times of desperation, ie, like 400-2, etc

Munaf Patel is a decent part timer. :)

Lol. I'd have to say that Collingwood is up there with the part timers, but it seems that he wants to bowl himself more so I guess he is more of an all rounder now.
