I think it would be better that this whole thing should be done by Staff only:spy

Agreed, i don't think we should post extra stuff till we get a reply from matt or one of the mods.

Are awards really essential for downloads? No (at least for me), the satisfaction I get is enough reward. Not to mention the experience you gain in graphics, programming and stuff. Planet Cricket got me so deep into technology and I am thankful to it. If it was not for planet cricket, I may not have been able to produce (now) things I produce now.

Will awards motivate members to make downloads? Can't say. But if the staff is okay with, this is a good idea.

I am agree with his one point that This won't motivate users for making downloads. I am still against with this thing:noway

Hitty arguing with himself is seems

Starts of anti-this

Results are already there. BM you will win this time as you made the patch which matched the people's choice. Since IPL is the biggest current even ,users will only prefer downloads related to IPL. We should wait for some more time before having a poll:)

I don't think so this is a good idea. It should be patch of the month because not many users have the potential tomake patches. They start with pitchads, stumps and kits. So it should be Download of the month;). And about sticky thread, there are already too many threads. More sticky thread will be just equal to normal threads.

For now i think this should be stopped. We should have this after one more month so that the newbies can get time to improve themselves:).

Oh, we are now for it

I'll say its good than we are rewarding the people but i have one more idea. We should give same task to all the download makers and than have a poll;)

I meant Staff should give same task to all the download makers. The one who will do the task better should win;). Suppose staff will give a task to make a gameplay patch. We will put all the names who will do this in a poll and the highest votes reciever will win:).

As i said Matt, This will only help users to be perfect in everything . When i started making downloads at PC ,i was only able to make kits and faces but now i can make anything:).

I think there isn't any need to have a poll. We can decode by the number of hits and replies in the threads of your downloads:)

Back to anti-this

I am still not able to find any good reason in this.

i meant chance:P

Hitterman added 1 Minutes and 26 Seconds later...

lol i lost now. This will be completely unfair with newbies. Please don't think only of yours ,think of the new guyz who also wanted to contribute.

Back to pro-this

Okay but we should also exclude small small patches related to IPL like my gameplay patch, blackk's patch, your etc.

It will be good if they will give their downloads for nomination themselves:)

I will also help in managing the nominations as i know everybody at downloads forum very well:)

I think it would be better that this whole thing should be done by Staff only:spy

Finally we are anti-this

lol at last i have decided to go against this thing.

Don't be afraid to voice an opinion Hitty, no one is going to bite your head off. Just stick to your guns :)

I agree with Harrypotter_fan. The biggest reason for me to make patches, was the challenge in it. The flaws in the game were a challenge to me and I tried to rectify the ones I could. I learnt a lot out of it, and thats the biggest reward for me. It also nice to know that so many people use your patches. Awards should be considered as additional bonus that comes with producing quality patches rather than the motivation behind it.
