A quick clarification on the averages increasing. Points are for activity in the match threads and not in the official team thread.
Also feel free to arrange some friendly matches in the coming week before the PCPL starts for proper on Monday 16th March. You will have to wait until the averages have been done and then download the program yourself or find a friendly simmer. We'll try to have everything ready to go by the middle of the week. :)

And a few rules about the match days...

5. MATCHDAYS

- Teams SHOULD be posted promptly on/before matchdays

- Team selection should consist of eleven players, with an
official wicketkeeper being selected in the starting lineup.
A MAXIMUM of THREE internationals may be played in the starting
eleven

- The home team is required to select the pitch type (poor, normal, excellent, random) they
would like for the match, if no pitch is announced, a random
pitch will be selected

- Teams will have three strikes when it comes to late posting
of teams. If a team is not posted by the time announced by the
match simmer, they will receive one strike. If a team is not
posted an hour after the time announced, they will receive
two strikes.

- If a franchise gets three (or more) strikes, then the
team will automatically be selected by the simmer, who
will reverse the lineup and remove internationals (if possible)
Following the punishment, the strike count is wiped back
to zero.

- To avoid late posting of teams as much as possible, match
threads will be posted more than 24 hours in advance of the
match, allowing everyone around the world a chance to post the
team.

- On top of this, every franchise will be allowed FOUR people
to post its team. These will be:

- Owner(s)
- Captain
- Vice Captain
- Nominated player (if only one owner)

Thanks

COULD I REQUEST ALL TEAMS TOTAL UP THE AVERAGE BOOSTING FOR THEIR SQUADS!

Otherwise, average changes will not take place. There will be random checks to ensure no cheating.

Fixtures for week 3 will be played at neutral venues. The team whose ground the game is to be played at will choose the pitch type. This must be posted as soon as possible after the match thread is opened.
If no pitch is posted by the hosting team a normal pitch will be selected.

Some details of week 4 of the PCPL:

The 1st placed team in division 2 will be playing fixtures against the top 3 sides in division 1 and the 4th placed side in division 1 will be playing fixtures against the remaining 3 sides in division 2.
Points from the first three weeks will be carried forward for all teams except the two who have swapped places (see below).
After week 4 the top 2 sides in division 1 will go on to contest the grand final (3 matches).

In order to confirm their promotion the team who came 1st in division 2 must win 2 matches in division 1. If they fail to do so and the team who came 4th in division 1 win 2 of their 3 matches then a promotion/relegation playoff will take place. Otherwise the promotion and relegation will stand as final.

Any questions about how this all works please use the discussion thread.

After careful consideration and consultation the PCPL board have decided to announce a slight change to the promotion/relegation playoff formula.
The provisionally promoted side must now win 2 games out of 3 to guarentee top flight status and the provisionally relegated side must now also win 2 games out of 3 to qualify for a playoff (should the promoted side fail to win 2 games).
Examples below:

Todays games had an earlier deadline of 1600 BST which has now passed with some teams not submitting lineups. I can see how this might be confusing as the deadline has never been this early so I am willing to give all the teams until 1800 BST. That is 1 hour and 50 minutes. If no team is posted by then there will be the usual action.

In the final piece of information about Season 2/Season 3, i'd like everyone to think about what/how they are to afford running a club next season. Team owners, how will you make the money to afford those vital Internationals?

There will be, by the looks of it, a good 6 months from now to make money, in which, you should easily be able to do! So,

Good luck, and happy thieving....I mean gaining ;) :D
