Hi I had never played PES since I have only a PC and XBox.

I play under 19 football for my local club (ok...it just a small club but hey ) and I always found FIFA to be nothing like real football.

After trying PES 3 I have only 2 words. Holy sh_it !!!!!!!

I cant believe I have been missing this all these years. I play most sports games on the PC and XBox but NO GAME has so accurately captured the feel of a sport so well before. I could go on about the various features and so on but then you could get the same thing from any professional review on the net.

The gameplay is almost perfect. Its not just the major things like crossing, shooting dribbling models etc but equally the subtleties...the small things.

Something very irritating in the FIFA series i found was my player would automatically chase the ball out of bounds even as I desperately tried to stop him.In PES 3 pressing r1+r2 for ex lets you stop a player from pursuing the ball at anytime.

Another remarkable thing is your players make truly intelligent runs to try free up space. I find it hilarious that EA found they could not make player behave intelligently and disguised the apalling AI as OFB .

Having anybody control 2 players at a time is a joke ! I thought it was a neat idea before playing PES but now I realise how much better and more natural the AI in PES 3 is.

I could go on..... and on

If you have at least a passing interst in football you owe to yourself to try PES 3 out especially now the demo is available for PC.
Never having played the game before but having heard a lot about it, NOTHING I have read has inspired me to now go out and try this game as much as that lol

is it really that much better than FIFA?
i mean...im a soccer/football (whatever u wanna call) NUT, I love the game, MORE THAN CRICKET, but i never thought a game could be better than FIFA...maybe im wrong lol

Yup PES 3 is better than FIFA by leaps and bounds.I have played the game but i find the large number of controls slightly confusing and requires lots of practise to get used too.But overall,a-must-have for any soccer fan.

Vineet what are your system specs, the graphics look awesome in your videos.I have to play with all low settings to get a decent frame rate :(
Which graphic card do u use ?

is it really that much better than FIFA?

Thats easy to answer.

Yes, its like comparing a Ferrari to a bicycle with a punctured tyre :D

Nikhil and Auwais, screenshots just dont do the game justice. Even on dailup it shouldn't take more than a few minutes. All files are reasonably small

Pat, the videos are taken on a rig with a Radeon 9800 card.

How do you get your vids to work properly. I use Fraps and when I press the video key the game starts running at about a frame a second. I've tried closing all other programmes etc.
I'm just a bit surprised I'm having probs as I'm running a high spec computer and graphics card (P4 2.6Ghz 64mb Radeon 7500)

FIrst thing to try with such a problem is to lower your ingame res (preferably to the same res you're capturing at)

Also try setting the process priority for fraps in windows to low.

Maybe setting half size - untick record sound - try different fps settings. There's no reason for it not to work smoothly on those specs.

Finally, this might help you out.
