Not sure if this is strictly the right place for this but it can always be moved.

After finally fixing my Photoshop, I get this error whenever I try to insert text into a sig;

Any solutions?

Wierd, havent seen that before, have you tried resetting your preferences?

Also what happens if you try to add text to a blank document, say 800x600 pixels?

Won't let me write text at all even when tryting your solution.

The odd thing is though, it lets me edit text that already exists on my other psd's but doesn't let me write anything knew.

Sorry if this is a daft question, but how can I reset my preferences?

click Edit> Preferences> and the see there will be reset option at the bottom of the window

You need to delete or rename (rename being a better option, you can put it back if it doesnt work) the file. You need to have "show hidden files" option enabled in explorer and you should find it somewhere like the pic below

Argh! I never knew I was this bad at computers, but please answer another daft question for me please;

How do I show hidden files?

In explorer goto

tools

folder options

view

somewhere there is show hidden folders and files

Thanks for the help, it didn't fix my problem though.

Oh well, I suppose i'd better try re-installing it.

thats wierd mate...never seen it before...try reinstalling it as you said and it might work...

Well I still haven't found a solution but I have found a way to work around it. I can write my text in Imageready and then convert it over into Photoshop and edit it from there. Still a bloody nuisance though! :mad:
