I promised analysis, and here is analysis. I'll try and do it over the long weekend I have and I will start with my own team:

Undefined One
Manager: ddrap14

Strengths:
  • I aimed to get 22 good and competitive players and I think I've done that. So a massive strength in depth- particularily top order batting.
  • Only one Australian player in the team is selected with the national team.
Weaknesses:
  • Only one 500 coin player. This is intentional but has an element of risk if some of the bargains don't come off.

Best Player: Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell is a key player for me, he'll be coming in at five and acting as a second spinner in most games, which I think is where he is best.
Best Bargain: Riley Meredith. Over half my team is bargains (Shaun Marsh, Sams, Braithwaite, Hasaranga, McDermott...) but the big one is Meredith. I picked him first as in my opinion he's the most undervalued player in the whole draft.

Predicted XI: Hales, Marsh, Lynn, McDermott, Maxwell, Wells, Sams, Hasaranga, K Richardson, Behrendorff, Meredith
note: Predicted XI is just my evaluation of each team, no way am I saying that's what the managers will go with

Strengths:
  • Two strengths in particular. The first is middle order batting. De Villiers, Miller, Van der Dussen, Nabi, Pretorius, Wiese and Mulder are great options for those 3-7 positions.
  • The other is spin. I wouldn't expect more than two of Kuldeep, Shamsi or Nabi to be picked but, again, options.
Weakness:
  • Opening batting depth. Guptill and Markram are a good pair but if an injury occurs, a makeshift opener would be needed.
Best Player: AB de Villiers. If you've heard of people not looking their age... this is a man who doesn't bat his age. Somehow at 37 he's still among the top 10 batsmen in the world currently in many's reckoning.
Best Bargain: Dwaine Pretorius. It was a tossup between the three 100-coin allrounders but national selection tipped it in the favour of the Gauteng quick.

Predicted Lineup: Guptill, Markram, De Villiers, Miller, Van der Dussen, Nabi, Pretorius, Mulder, Hasan, B. Hendricks, Shamsi

Strengths:
  • Bowling. I'll start with the pace stocks, where the attack is likely to comprise a mixture of the raw pace of Starc and Rauf, the canny of Deepak Chahar and Pattinson, and the raw talent of Tyagi.
  • But it's spin where this team shines. All-rounders Krunal Pandya and Ashton Agar will play key roles as will the dedicated spin army, led by Yuzvi and also including both 2011 World Cup winning spinners (Harbie and Chawla), as well as the canny Murugan and another exciting youngster, Ravi Bishnoi.
Weaknesses:
  • What gains are made in bowling depth are felt (to an extent) in batting. 7 players will be competing for 5-6 places. At least Steve Smith wasn't called up by the Aussies...
Best Player: Steve Smith. Nothing I can say about him hasn't already been said, so let's just say he's possibly the most naturally talented batsman of this generation.
Best Bargain: Ash Agar. Many good bargains in this team but an experienced overseas allrounder, on a pitch that will suit him, for 100 coins, is a great deal.

Expected LIneup: Padikkal, Shaw, Smith, Pope, Pant, Krunal, Agar, Starc, Chahal, Chahar, Rauf
