BLC Online could never expect to have it all its own way though and with the new popularity of Brian Lara Cricket / Shane Warne Cricket many new BLC sites started popping up.
The first one of these was Active BLC started by Aclemsy/Aaron Clements before renaming to Brian Lara Cricket Pavilion, news story on the new site - http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showthread.php?t=169 .
While this was launched in July 2001 another notable Brian Lara Cricket site was BLC World, home to the ?Cool BLC Patch? and created by none other than current Planetcricket admin Sangam!

Other sites around included BLC Updates http://blcupdates.filetap.com/ and BLC League http://blcleague.netfirms.com/ which was created by another future Planetcricket admin in Ritwik. The site was an online BLC league and tournaments played by email in a same way as online matches now in Cricket 2004. 4 years later and still no game developer has seen the potential in this to include proper online gameplay in a cricket game.
Of course at the same time as this Cricketgames.com, possibly the original cricket gaming site was still going run by Dan Thomas. He was very helpful to BLC Online always posting updates on what was going on at and news of the latest downloads from BLC Online. This was one of the main ways people found out about the site and one of the main reasons it is so popular today!
