Ravi Shastri Talks to Star allrounder Cricketman93, ahead of the Asian Xi's Tournament, which is due to start on October 19th.
Ravi: How do u feel Playing for the asian XI, after a terrific allround season with the bat and ball for India? ( ODI :1246 runs in 15 matches batting average 72.77.. best: 246*... 64 wickets at 5.33 (bowling average) best: 10/8 Test: 10 matches 20 innings runs 1134....42 wickets at 22.22 )
Cricketman93: Well i feel great. I've had a good Debut season for India, and i'm really excited to be playing in this tournament.
RS: What would be your main goal in this upcoming tournament?
CM93: Well just to bat well and score some good runs...i don't want to get out to a rash stroke...to bowl with good pace and swing the ball...but mostly to just have fun.
RS: You've been nominatedfor team captain...how would u feel if u got the job?
CM93: Well its a great feeling...after just 15 matches that people have recognized leadership skills in one...im honoured. Its up to the selectors mainy, but i would really love it if i was picked.
RS: The asian team right now is filled with tonnes of allrounders, including you. Whats Your take on this?
CM93: Well you can never have too many AR's. If we have a team of 11 which all can bat and bowl...we'd be the best team in the world.
RS: In the past, India and Pakistan have been arch rivals...how would it feel to play on the same team?
CM93: well the pakistani's are great guys...sure we've had our share of rivalry in the past but its all over. They are great players and great people on the whole. I highly look forward to playing with not only pakistani's but also Sri Lankans and maybe bangladeshi's.
