Player Editor changes don't stick?

What I want to do is, make all my strike bowlers "Fast", and all my "medium" bowlers "medium fast".
That is , eliminate the medium bowler.

I want to do this so I can't use the medium bowler
cheat i.e. bowl real slow and tie them down or get
easy LBW.

I make the changes in the editor , ( open roster.pak
in the user folder and click save for each "basic" entry), but
they are still the original bowling type in the game.

Seems things aren't that simple eh.

Are you starting a new game? Any changes you make wont show up in an existing saved game.
