This should not be too hard at all for EA to do, and seems so obvious that I'm surprised EA does not add this as a feature or release it as a patch atleast. Just have Richie Benaud record names of great cricketers of the past and release rosters. The possibilities are endless. Classic series or favorite tournaments of the past could be replayed. Imagine playing the 1983 world cup with the rosters of the day - leading Kapil's Devils against Clive Lloyd's immortals in the finals.
The players themselves can be created right now, but the problem is the commentary breaks down. But it is so easy to fix that I'm surprised EA has not done it yet.
