Had some contact with Codemasters today, the good news is that they are sorting out few final details and hope to announce the release date for Ashes 2009 prior to the start of the first ashes test next week.

Thats great news Kamy and thanks for real good work done. That should settle all the drama regarding release date or on the contrary it could instigate a whole new speculation cyclone. All we have to do is wait for seventh of july for some good news.

People's expectation go high and they buy the game

Gamer's get disappointed and they bash the game
I have seen it almost every game release. I'd rather wait till the real reviews come out here after the game releases

What a hilariously uninformed post.
How can you say 'history repeats', when:
- the game hasn't been released
- the BLIC 2007 demo was poo, and so was the game
- we didn't playtest BLIC 2007 and give rave reviews.
I don't know where everyone is getting the idea that we at PC gave BLIC 2007 rave reviews. On the contrary, as the PC review gave it 3/10 for gameplay. Incidentally, 3/10 is about what you get from me for punctuation. "Gamer's". Ha.

It would have been better if you have read the previous pages before posing. It is true that PC were invited by Codies for BLIC07 too but the fact is that they were not allowed to play the game. They were just given the demonstration of the game and the review PC wrote were based on the lies that developers said. This time around,not only PC but a lot of general members have played the game and review are very positive.

If I can recollect the demo for blc 2007 came out pretty much after the game released.
This game might not even have a demo released.

Don't know why you are so sensitive about Codies and their game but after playing so many half baked, crap cricket games after blc 99 I will not buy this game until I see the real reviews from game sites and member's here.
PC does a great job in making AI patches and kits which atleast make these game's half discent

Well said, Lazy. It's like this over at the EA Forum: some members have tested Fifa 10 PC and said they were impressed, but some people, just like the guy above are never happy. Why is it the glass is always half empty with some people?

Who knows? Maybe. But the guys who did the preview for blic 2007 were seriously smoking some good sh*t
BTW reviews are what you input when you test out the finished version and I don't think these guys did. So think twice before telling people "Full Review"
Codies have given a good reason from last time why I shouldn't be hyped up about their cricket game.

The difference this time is that PC members have actually played the game, unlike in 2007. Any previews that were given last time were based on things Codies had said and demonstrated themselves.
At the end of the day, whether you buy the game is up to you, but it's not fair to make assumptions about a game before it's even released, just because it's predecessor wasn't good.
