Review Playtest Review/Preview(Review Links, Updated in First Post)

Exactly. Decent AI is vital for enjoyable Test Matches because, as you said, no-one is going to want to play a Test online. And since the game is supposed to be focused on a Test series, bad AI will kill the game. Dead.

@Those Who Have Played The PC/Xbox 360/PS3 versions:

How do you select fielding positions? I think it would be a great system if you could just click on the fielding positions display and that would take you straight to the fielding positions menu. Or even better, just drag/drop people on the fielding display without ever leaving the main game screen?

Have you got any information about this aspect, Lazy?

Yeah you just toggle through fielding without having to go into the main menu. It's much better being able to do that in-game.

wow, i haven't visited planetcricket in years... finally a new game is released with some promise about it. i'm sure we will all become addicted, forget to shower and start living off whatever gets caught in our 3 day growth. thanks for the reviews tom and co. :)

Still leaves alot of questions unanwered, I apprecite your efforts but as always it will be a wait and see issue.

I have hopes it will be a good game but as with so many titles at the moment Im not holding my breath that it will meet expectations.

I would love to be proven wrong.....oh and the realse date is BS, the calendar should be for day one of the Ashes or at least a week or two before, hit the ground running and promote properly Your advertising department needs to get it together. All to often games are marketed so poorly and coencide with nothing,

Olympics = release before the start get people interested
Fifa - same thing for world cup
Madden = pre-season
Cricket = world cup or in this instance ashes
so on and so forth they all seem to miss the mark all to often.

Wow, all the old members from the golden era are returning.

After they realise that this game, and all the other cricket games are rubbish, they will vanish again only to re-emerge in a few years time. :D

Chances are that will be correct GAS, but the hope is the game will match up and we will all stay......as much chance of that as there is of the Poms winning the Ashes :)

Wanna stay for the Ashes? We could do with some more Aussies. You can never have enough. :)

I think we have more chance of winning the Ashes than this game being anything other than a let down. :p

I think we should encourage the game, rather than criticising it even before its release. I think this will end up being the best game ever. :D:cool:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising the game before i have played it. But given past experience i think most cricket fans here have a right to be sceptical.

I didnt know the game had feeling or needed encouragment....but anyway come on little fella you can do it :)

haha more than just a right. a string of absolute ████ is what we have been served up. oh how i miss the old days of crazy patching by the ridiculously computer literate amongst us.

until we get a developer wiling to test a game for a large amount of time, instead of just pushing it out on a release date they set 18 months ago, we aren't going to see much progress i feel...
hey, they don't care, they are making money. in the end that's all they are in it for- not to provide any sort of quality to us as a consumer.
