Problem with batting line up

Hi everyone,

As you all must be aware Rangeela and I are playing test match series through save game mail method.

We both played our first innings and exchanged our team.ctm files. Now when I open his save game I get player line up which is different then originial one. Surprisingly scores of first innings remain same but name are changed in same order.

I tried overwriting india.ctm file with original one without any result. If I start new game the default line up is choosen as chosen before.

Has any one else playing the test with same format experienced same problem.

These are other things I have tried. I had WCEXP installed I removed it. As I couldnt do it individually I uninstalled whole cricket 2002 and reinstalled. Tried to run the save game and again no result with line up.

Overwrote India.ctm with original one , no result.

Tried to use line up editor changed line up to one I had, no result.

Do u have more suggestion??? :sangam:

i am using the line up editor version by Sundeep Vig (sunsamrat) and it works fine for me. Are you using the same one?

Sachida, the problem is the teams.tem file indefinitely. This is the route file where all edited team files are kept. open it up in notepad and check the listed players against the ones you have in the ctm file. If the listed players are different then thats where things are getting messed up. If this is the case, you will have some awkward problems :throw:

Rangeela, I am using the same line up editor but as I understand it changes the line up called by computer. You still use your own set up when you start the game.

Sonic, I opened .tem file in notepad. I can read players name. They are all there. I cant read any values though. My problem is not changed name, my problem is the line up that I used to start the game is changed. I will see if I change the name what happens. I thing the values are recalled from savegame files to the .ctm files. teams.tem file just maintains stats and ability profile.

Please continue ur suggestion.

Sachida, this may sound a bit obvious, but i take it you did enter the same team that you want in all three of the line-ups in the editor? Unless you do this then different ones will occur each time.....

btw, i had this problem when me and Lisle were playing earlier, all i did was erase both the saved game file and ctm and asked lisle to send me both files again, and for some reason it worked fine the second time of asking... :blink:

Why don't you ask Rangeela to send you the files again?

one more thing, its actually better to send each other files via msn messenger than e-mail...e-mailed attachments can pick up all kinds of glitches, whereas messenger is a straight swap of files...worth a thought for everyone in the future... :blink: :unsure:

also, its been known that sometimes the one day lineup is selected for tests...so it might be worth ensuring that the same line-up appears in all 5 lineups of Rangeela's ctm. that might be the best help I can now offer. the only other option is to reinstall, and get the files again, but then you would lose any patches you might have installed, but if you have them backed up then use that as a last resort perhaps :blink: :huh:

Thanks sonic for your invaluable help. I played with line up earlier but I beleive it has to be done BEFORE the game has started because sg file has some information calling from .ctm file which inturn gets stats from .tem file.

since we were unaware of the issue we didnt do all that is required.

Now we have decided the line up and will set up all six (3 test and 3 onedays) the same. For fun may be just changing sequence but keeping players same.
Again it will be random pick up so I dont know how that will turn out.

At the end of the innings player will send both .ctm files to each other and remove the original one from other. So we will write new files rather than overwrite.
