PS2 Special Deliveries? How?

ok ive played the game on pc and ps2, i understand to access the special deliveries one needs there confidence full and the ball in the bottom left blinking. My problem is what buttons actually perform the special deliveries on the PS2?

L1 and R2 are the buttons for special diliveries on ps2. to be honest, special deliveries are useless.

ok i hit X to run up, hit X agn 2 bowl as the bowler bowls you hit R2/L2 which doesnt seem to do a yorker or bouncer lol its weird man

You don't hit X again, that will just bowl a normal delivery. Press X to make the bowler run up and then press R2 or L2.

Yea thats right. You press X to make the marker come up. Then instead of pressing X to stop the bowling bar you press one of the shoulders.

N.B. The Yorker is a slower ball.

You have to bowl the Yorker short because it then turns into a yorker and you have to bowl the bouncer full so it turns into a bouncer.
