Question about Hawkeye for PS2 users

I noticed recently that whenever I score a 50/100 and get to see the hawkeye shot direction thingy that the shots seem to go down the exact same path over and over again.

For example, straight drives always go about 2ft to the right side of the bowler's end stumps whether it's a right hand or left hand bat. And all the other shots are similarly repetitive.

I then noticed that the CPU seems to have the ability to place the ball wherever it wants. For example, sometimes it will hit a leg glance shot very very very fine indeed and beat my fine leg/long leg fielder to the rope.

I was wondering if anyone with a copy of the game for PS2 could tell me whether you can use the left ANALOGUE stick to pinpoint where you want to place the shot and get more varied shot directions.

I am wondering this with a view to either getting an analogue PC controller or making some sort of patch if possible.

Cheers,

Tom

yea i have my ps2 controllers connectted up to the pc version of BLIC, you need to edit the controller config slightly, but works ace.

Yes you can place the ball nearly anywhere you want

I also have my Ps2 controller on my Pc with an adapter and that as well as the Pc gamepad both work very well at being able to place the ball :)

Serious?

That sounds great. I think I better get one of these magical adapters?

Could you show me a screenshot of your hawkeye after scoring 50 so I can just check.....

No worries if you can't be bothered.

Just a quick 50 I knocked up for you on village mode with Tresco.. I tried to put a boundary at every point of the ground, as well as showing you some of the differences in the cover drives. Also the leg glance was played with a fine leg in place, just played very fine :)

This looks great.

Daft question though, does this work on the PS2 as well? I've tried both analog & digital and it doesn't seem make a difference.

Cheers,

Isn't it a bit daft that even quick singles are shown going all the way to the boundary.

Hawkeye scoring charts are purely to show shot direction.

True, but you could still see where the ball was going even if the line wasn't that long.

yeah BLIC sux all the way... fake halkeyes... fake/silly lbw not out decisions, have a look

Yeah - because halkeyes innit, no wonder they're fake, like Aribas and Yike.

Well, thanks to puddleduck and Mentalist, I spent 20 quid on an analogue gamepad and it's great. It adds a hell of a lot to the game.

I might even get some other games for PC now! Maybe even Cricket 2005. No. Wait. Did I just say that?
