That's an illusion. The 3G stick gives unlimited data transfer plans of Rs. 599, but that's on 2G. Max speed will be around 200 kbps.

none crossed 1mbps speed while they promise for 3.1 mbps

Most people have this illusion that Mbps stands for megabytes per second, whereas in reality it is Megabits per second. So infact, Aswin, you should not get above 410 Kilobytes per second or something .

I have MTS Mblaze and Reliance netconnect
same type device
same price
they both promised for 3.1 mpbs
but got 3.1 mpbs+ in mblaze but reliance has fooled all

Also if you want to find the max speed you get, just convert to 'X'Bits per second.(Divide by 8)

eg. For 3.1 mbps --> 3.1*1024/8 --> app. 400 Kilobytes Per second.
For 500 kbps --> 512/8 --> app. 64 Kilobytes Per second.

Yes, download speed, but in megabits so it's pretty useless as I said earlier too.
