Which all players will hang up their boots in the New Year ?
Discuss all here.

I think,we might just see a few big names opting to retire.

Jaysuriya for one might retire from all forms of the game.
English captain Micheal Vaughan also is a possibilty.

Hopefully not Vaughan as we don't have a replacement. As he's given up captaining the OD side and currently isn't being selected for it I could see a OD retirement to allow him continue test cricket for a bit.

I reckon you might be right, I did hear talk about him playing as one of the many Kolpaks in county cricket, don't know if that was just wishful thinking from domestic fans though or serious.

If Vaughan retires it meas begging Tres again and Strauss coming back, Ian Bell opened in India didn't he? Anyway Vaughan wouldn't retire until after the ashes. I don't think any English or Australians will do so in test cricket until after them.

Nothing can be said about India. I'd like to see at least 1 of our big three out by the end of 2008, though, clearing the way for Subramaniam Badrinath.

From australia either Gilchrist or hayden will retire in 08 then the other will retire in 09.

From India Tendulkar

Sth Africa Pollock

I think Rahul Dravid will call it a day (that is not becasue of his performance yesterday :p)

Vaughan? He's only 33, his knees are holding okay in his latest run of games. I think he's going to hang up after the 09 Ashes personally.

He's our club captan and is playing as well as he's ever done so unless somebody young really performs for us he'll want to stay and work with Leicestershire, England he won't get near anywhere.

He's a small time county player, who won't play for his country again.

I'd be surprised if anyone from India retires. I feel Dravid has a couple of years at least in him. Kumble, Ganguly and Tendulkar are in great form, so I don't think they'd go.

Pollock, there's a good possibility. Vaughan - no way. Jayasuriya's old enough, but he's been playing really well recently. He may want to retire on a high.
