This is a career based story of a young cricketer who always had a dream and desire to be an icon in the game of Cricket. The story is dedicated to the members of PlanetCricket. This is not just a prose on the lad's sport-life, but also on his life. The story includes every positive and negative aspect of the lad's life. The readers witness almost all efforts and fights carried out by Mr. Saptharshi to empower himself from a Street Cricketer to a Global Image of the World of Cricket.

As mentioned, this story revolves round the character, Mr. Akshay Saptharshi, who currently resides in The Silver Apple Neighborhood, Barrman Street, Melbourne along with his roomie Mr. Barry Northus. Both of them are classmates, cricketers. Akshay was born in Karnataka, India studied upto Class12 there and moved to Melbourne for higher studies. Barry is an Aussie, Sydney-born, but flew to Melbourne for academics as Akshay. They are good friends and share almost every moment irrespective of joys and sorrows together.

I am Akshay... Akshay Saptharshi. Currently, I reside in Melbourne with my roomie, my best friend Barrie...Barry Northus. He's from Sydney. I flew here for obtainig my Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Science from Deakin University, Melbourne. It is a three-year course, Barry and I are now in the final year...​

My college, Me and Barrie...

I have a fascination towards the Game of Cricket. I always used to play it in my homeland. I had attended coaching camps conducted by Regional Cricket Clubs and also KSCA, The Karnataka State Cricket Association. I also represented my hometown and South Zone of Karnataka in Under-15 and Under-17 Leagues. As the time passed, my academics drew me and i was almost dissolved in studies. Cricket was almost forgotten! This indirectly made me to concentrate on my curriculum and gain applauds at my higher schooling. When there were only two main (and most known) branches of graduation (Engineering and Medicine) in my hometown, other courses were almost neglected. I decided to do something different! I took Forensic Field and never changed that option! While looking out for some good and recognised universities, Deakins grabbed my attention. I flew here...
As I had a never-ending passion towards Cricket, I joined the MCC, Melbourne Cricket Club which was at a walkable distance from our place and was given a 'rookie' status. I almost took an year to retrieve my skills! In the consecutive year, I was added to the list of probables for the MCC XI, a team that was to participate in the KOOKABURRA VPC, The Victorian Premier Cricket League. I almost made to the Playing 'XII', was a Substitute from the Day-1! My luck favoured me at once! The opener was injured at the practice sessions... I replaced him! It happened all of a sudden, It was almost a dream-come-true for me!...​

I scored 31 off 33 balls... not a bad score of that match. Though, we won it (I felt, because of me), i was given back my position... I was back in pavillion, supplying towels and water for the players for the rest of the Tournament...
Barry was also a Club Member, but hardly came for practice! ​

Thats because currently Stories forum is very inactive and even I hardly get comments. So wait until it becomes busy and then you'll get wonderful coments.
