i have been looking through the cricket 2004 exe and have come up with a new one which might fix the runout bug.

i need some people to test it for me because my computer has been experiencing a few problems in running games so i cant test it properly.

however i am not able attach any files to my thread at all. has anybody else been experiencing such a problem.

i have just uploaded it to a different web site and posted a link to it.

thanks tom for ur offer just use this link.

I think the problem with the runout bug is the timing. Like if the batsman hits it, the tim it takes to get to the fielders hands depends on if they run or not. A perfect example of this is the shot down the ground to Mid On or Mid Off, the ball takes some time to get there, and is why i think the majority of run outs hapen there.

If this exe works, I will be very glad. Good Work On trying mate!

it works for me now. try copying and pasting this link into your browser.

and squiz the issue might be about timing howver there are many possibilities about why runouts might happen. there are several instances where runouts are adressed in the exe. i have just edited one which seemed most like;y to be the cause of the bug. if it doesnt work i will of course try editing other parts of the exe.

I've donwnloaded the file and run the runoutfix.exe. Im currently testing at the moment but im afraid 5 overs in and I've already had a runout with a shot to mid on and a Suicidal run. I will keep the game going though and see what happens. Im just running a 50 over match computer v computer.

Are there any particular updates I should have installed or does it not matter?

Many thanks

well havn't tried the exe but one request.

ca u plz edit SAM'S EXE so as to if ur EXE works and removes the run-out bug, we don't have to switch EXEs coz sam's ex will fix lineup bug and removes the cursor and ur exe removes the run-out bug.

in this situation we will have to use SAM'S EXE while batting and UR EXE while bowling.

so plz can u edit SAM'S EXE.

Im affraid I havn't noticed any reduction in the amount of run outs im getting.

Could you provide a bit more information about how this exe works and how it could reduce runouts?

Thanks

what I do is save the game after every over, and if there's a suicidal run out when the cpu is batting, quit and restart that over. Its a nuisance though, possibly the biggest irritation in the game.

sorry abt the file not working but there are loads of unintelligible parts of the exe and its only by trial and error that anything can be done.

try the same link again i have updated it.

i think the run-out bug may have something to do with the stroke files.

I think the CPU thinks it has timed the shot pefect so it automaticlly takes off for a run, but actually the shot doesn't go very far.

Maybe there is a problem with the power settings of one of the drives when it is timmed well.

It is just a suggestion if anyone wants to have a look in to it, i am probably way off, lol
