I intend to absolutely maximise first pick in the draft:
BOB TAYLOR
Bob Taylor's career spanned an era littered with elite English wicket-keepers: Alan Knott, David Bairstow, Paul Downton, Bruce French, Jack Richards and Geoff Humpage (who didn't ever get to play a Test). That he racked up 57 Test caps speaks volumes about just how good he was with the big gloves on, especially considering his
deeply forgettable batting average of 16.28. However, his batting does have value in my team: Taylor averaged exactly 60 balls per time dismissed in Test cricket, and that could make for an invaluable partnership alongside the last recognised batter in the team.
He will provisionally slot in at number seven, though the exact balance of my team is up in the air until later on.
