Selectors

i think everyone missed the "Cox IS An Example" bit. I do on the other hand always like a thread where a great player is discussed.

I agree that maybe he would have failed as others have done, but I guess we'll never know.

The last thing I will say about Jamie Cox is that I am proud of how much he has done for Tasmanian cricket. People actually care about the side now.

Well thanks for your insight

Have a look at Hussey's Aussie stats and it tells the story of why Hussey was only recently picked by Australia. Australia do not pick players based on county form, they pick players based on state form.
Thats the way it should be, because some of the teams would be no better than a Victorian Premier Cricket team.

obviously they would not pick teams on county performances. who would get picked for playing well against an englishman. it's like playing against schoolies.

This 'inflation from county cricket' that sees most players averages go down, is a good one. Anyway, all this BS about State records and what not and this guy played 74 Tests: http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/aust...layer/7629.html

Someone explain that to me.
Had Slater only played domestic and county cricket then I'd imigane that average would be above 50.

And if Hussey had've started his career several years ago then that average of his would be around that 40-45 mark. Though, an arguement could be made that he should've been in the side instead of Mark Waugh.
