I have just been reading Stuart Law's coloumn in the MEN and he has stated that contract negotiations between him an Lancashire have started, but if he doesn't get offered a suitable contract offer, or one at all, he is going to be retiring from County Cricket, he has also stated he wants one more season as Lancashire captain. here is a quote:

"If Lancashire and I can't decide a contract, then I won't be playing cricket for any other County"

Well, our batting line up would look much more fragile without him, especially the middle order, we need a solid player who can make big hundreds there.

Its been announced. Stuart Law shan't be continuing as captain and shall not be offered a contract for 2009. Glen Chapple is going to take the reigns and I can't help but think this is a big step back for Lancs

Couldn't agree more with the step back for Lancashire, however, they have said they want the youngsters to gain first team cricket, and law is 39, so he is way past his best.

They want the youngsters to step up now...

I'd imagine Lancs will have a big name replacement lined-up for him otherwise they wouldn't have let such a key player go.

He's onto ICL more now, i think!..

Gillespie gets Farhat just when he was looking dangerous

by mistake I have posted it here instead of the ICL thread.

sorry for the inconvineance.

Well, I was reading a Mike Watkinson interview some where (I think MEN) and he said with Lou Vincent leaving they are looking for an over seas player to replace him, but they want youngsters like Karl Brown to step up and replace Staurt.

Doubt they will be able to though.

I'm glad to hear that. It will only benefit English cricket if more youngsters are playing and filling the roles left by big names.
