Interesting Thread, but what period is 'Summer' exactly. Also are you only looking at tests in England all over. I will base the reply on four test series that happened around the same period Eng - NZ, Eng - Aus, SL - Pak, SL - Ind. Its test only.


Player of the summer- Angelo Matthews (6 Tests - 608 Runs, avg 50 and 6 wickets, avg - 25.83)

Batsman of the summer- Angelo Matthews

Bowler of the summer- Stuart Broad

Most improved player of the summer- Amit Mishra (3 Tests 15 wickets at avg of 15)

Biggest let down of the summer- Adam Lyth, Mitchell Johnson

Best innings of the summer- Younis Khan 171 n.o. in third test vs SL to help chase down a target of 382 in the 4th innings. Second would be Chandimal's 162* vs India in 1st test in the 3rd innings to turn the match on its head. SL looked set for a walloping at 95/5 in the third innings, and still trailing India by 97. Chadimal then turned the match with that knock.

Best bowling performance of the summer- Stuart Broad 8 wickets in the 4th Ashes Test.

Best moment of the summer- Sanga Retirement Send Off and Ceremony

Best match of the summer- SL vs India 1st test. After being on the ropes for most of the match, SL turned it around and won the match.
