Supersoakers Team Thread 2007

Don't go in with high expectations. Also, looks like midseason break is just about rounding up, so there hasn't been much Cricsim activity of late.

We do have some luck in ODs is what i feel after looking at some of the results. :)

Stay tuned. ;) I can tell you that if it does happen, it will be strongly tied in with the Cricket Career engine.

Sounds interesting

I would like to think that my "stunning revelation" is what spurred all these other wannabe managers to turn in their resignation slips. ;)

I would like to have look at that new technology Sohum, the current simulator is a joke program tbh.

Well the simulator context is completely different. To be fair, seeing that the Cricsim program depends solely on averages to simulate the games, I think it does a more than decent job. The engine I wrote is written in PHP (which means it could be easily ported to something like Java) and depends on far more variables--not just averages. My engine throws weird results a few times, too, but I would like to believe that it has cut down on it.

In that sense, my engine is slightly more complex because it will use the various ratings for each batsman and each bowler to determine the outcome of each ball. This is unlike the current Cricsim which, although I haven't tried decompiling it, probably uses a fixed set of random probabilities and determines how probable a player is of getting out by using their average and their generated statistics. This is just a guess of course.

The Cricsim does have points and also uses stats, I have sort of observed the effect.

I do hope your engine is better than the one we're currently as it is very frustrating tbh. Get two wickets in an over and then be taken off for no good reason. Stupid so-and-so...

Yeah, spend more time rigging your games and less time trying to get a rise out of us. :)

Anyone noticed now Rickyp has gone, he has passed it on to two fellow Bitters? Hmmm.......

I know. Anyone else noticed the fact that they never lose? I'm not bitter or anything, but I think we should have impartial match posters. Of course me not being very pro-active at all immediately rule myself out of such a role.

Bitters lost most of the games when I was simming them and I am sure one can trust Dean with the simming not that Marko was cheating or anything.
