Wisden described Tom Hayward as one of the greatest batsmen of all time in their obituary in 1939. And he has a FC bowling average of 22, with 481 wickets. That’s good enough for me.

You left out the part about him having one of the GOAT cricketing moustaches and I'm disappointed

:wi: :bwl: Corey Collymore

Test stats - 93 wickets @ 32.30 (4 5WI, best 7/57) in 30 matches
First-class stats - 492 wickets @ 26.85 (12 5WI, best 7/57) in 167 matches

Bowling VARP (seam) - :up: 22.63%

When he first appeared in the late 90s, Corey Collymore bowled absolute gas. Unfortunately for him, a chest-on action sent tortion forces through his spine and he had to tone down his pace after a couple of stress fractures. He became an incredibly tricky proposition for opposition bowlers: operating at about 80 mph with impeccable control and seam presentation, he offered the sternest examination of batting technique that you'd get from any West Indian bowler in the era between Walsh and Roach. He also could still crank it up, with an occasional effort ball in the mid-to-high eighties.

@Aislabie's XI so far:
1.
2. :eng: :bat: Alec Stewart
3. :aus: :bat: Billy Murdoch

Statistics
Tests:- 139 wickets @30.32 in 36 tests
First Class:- 475 wickets @26.21 in 125 matches

Valentine had an average of 25 picking up 93 wickets in his first 4 years in international cricket but his form faded away in later years which caused his average to increase past 30. He and his partner Ramadhin were instrumental in West Indies' first test series victory in England in 1950. He was awarded Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1951.

A bit of a surprise that the man with the highest batting average below 40 is still unpicked, but he shall no longer be so.

:eng::bat:Keith Fletcher (batting average: 39.90) was a dominant player of spin, suspect against true bounce or quality pace but possessed a shrewd brain which held him in high esteem and regard in the dressing room of the 70s England side. A loyal man for the cause, he was the one who delivered Essex's first three trophies, turning a side that was a joke before the 60s into a mean outfit that would dominate the 80s. His short and ill-fated stint as the England captain should be viewed in favourable light as half the team was preparing for a rebel tour while he was thrust into the spotlight due to Brearley's retirement and Botham's failure. He did accept responsibility for a controversial tour of India marked by poor umpiring and negative tactics for which he was sacked.

In my team he will bat at five where he averages a credible 46 in 30 matches.

De Kock is the best keeper-bat currently, who plays in all the formats. He will play at the 7th spot in my team where he averages near 50 with 5 hundreds and 9 fifties.
