McGrath and Gillespie are the best fast bowling combination toady, if not one of the best in the past decade or so, getting up there with the likes of Ambrose-Walsh and Donald-Pollock.
Akthar-Sami.....very lethal pace, but very unpredictable (or their day they can be very destructive)
Hoggard-Harmison.......great combination of pace and swing, just need more experience and need to play in winning team for w little while longer.
Vaas-Zoysa........Vaas is a very good bowler, but Zoysa is very unpredictable, seeing how tall he is he should be bowling a lot faster than he bowls currently (He bowls at around 120-125 Kmph range......thats ridiculous, S.Waugh was bowling quicker than that when he retired!!!!!)
Pathan-Balaji...........the best combination of upcoming young fast bowlers, if they remain injury free than they and continue to imrprove they can take the mantle from McGrath and Gillespie. They both are excellent swing bowlers and very accurate (well Balaji has been a bit off in the Asia cup so far). Pathan is improving rapidly and will only get better with more exposure in Tests and ODI's...

great thought vaughn, also a great poll, but for me i go with mcgrath and gillespie

yeah i agree with u guys. McGrath and Gillespie are no.1 but I voted for Hoggard and Harmison cuz I dont see McGrath playing for too long as the great bowler is well past his best. Hence in terms of the long run, I do think England's duo of Hoggard and Harmison will take over from McGrath and Gillespie.

I personally think that when on song, Harmison/Flintoff is a more lethal duo than Harmison/Hoggard

McGrath-Gillespie

I would love to have said Pathan-Balaji but Balaji is sort of letting everyone down of late :(. I think based on sheer talent, it's gotta be Sami-Akthar. 5 years down the line they will be mature and tearaway fast bowlers and Pakistan will have one of the best teams in the world. Especially after they have gone out of the whole coach-changing craze and hired a solid international performer (Woolmer)

I voted Harmy and Hoggard, i agree with Vaghnie on the McGrath point also. At the minute McGrath and Gillespie are in good form but in the long run i think Harmison and Hoggard are the bettwe pairing.
