:eng: :ar: Andrew Flintoff

ODI stats
- 3,394 runs @ 32.01 (SR: 88.82, 3 centuries, best 123) and 169 wickets @ 24.38 (econ: 4.39, 2 5WI, best 5/19) in 141 matches
List A stats - 6,641 runs @ 29.78 (SR: idk, 6 centuries, best 143) and 289 wickets @ 22.61 (econ: 4.16, 2 5WI, best 5/19) in 282 matches

I've had a bit of a rethink and decided to pick another all-rounder at number five, and to shift Andrew Symonds to a possibly-a-bit-high number four. Andrew Flintoff, who is rapidly becoming England's most underrated ODI cricketer with his historically excellent bowling record allied with a truly ridiculous batting output from number five. He'll get to take on all his favourite roles in my team, and I have complete confidence in him doing them excellently.

Aislabie's XI so far:
1. :wi: :wkb: Andre Fletcher (top-order hitter)
2. :sco: :bat: Mike Allingham (anchor I guess)
3.
4. :aus: :ar: Andrew Symonds (middle-order hitter/stock bowler)
5. :eng: :ar: Andrew Flintoff (middle-order hitter/attacking bowler)
6. :wi: :ar: Garfield Sobers (middle-order hitter/attacking bowler)
7.
8.
9. :ber: :wk: Kwame Tucker (firefighter/gloveman)
10. :wi: :bwl: Joel Garner (death bowler)
11.

And my nomination for the lottery...

1621794771785.png

:zim: :ar: Mluleki Nkala

ODI stats
- 324 runs @ 10.80, (SR 61.59, best 47) and 22 wickets @ 71.36 (econ 5.95, best 3/12) in 50 matches
LIST A stats - 714 runs @ 14.00,( SR n/a, best 54*) and 71 wickets @ 38.90 (econ 5.48, 1 5WI, best 5/35) in 93 matches

In another country, Nkala may well have made more of his obvious talent. But Nkala wasn't from another country - he was from Zimbabwe in an era of hyperinflation, torment and turmoil.

Hmm, I never actually sat down and looked at my entire team. Let's fix that first of all.

1. David Obuya
2. Shivnarine Chanderpaul
3.
4.
5.
6.
7. Lance Klusener
8. Aijaz Ali
9. Curtly Ambrose
10.
11. Dwayne Leverock

Okay so I've got a competent keeper who's not that horrible with the bat. Oddly enough, Shiv may have to be the more aggressive of the opening pair. Got two excellent seamers and a handy spinner. I'd like to pick another seaming all-rounder who can bat in the middle...hmm...oh, right. Been wanting to pick Scott Styris in a Draft for some time now. He'll fit in anywhere from 4-6 and be my third seamer for now.

I'll put Sanwar Hossain into the lottery.

Thanks. I can explain what happened at a later time if necessary but here's my lineup so far:

2-4?. :ind: :bat: Virat Kohli
5. :hkg: :bat: Courtney Kruger
6. :aus: :ar: Michael Bevan
7. :pak: :wk: Adnan Akmal
8-9?. :sri: :bwl: Chaminda Vaas
10-11?. :ken: :bwl: Josephat Ababu

So, some things I require:
* A sixth bowling option to share ten overs with Bevan
* Some top order power
* Not to have a pair of Lottery players up top

This sounds like a situation for Sanath Jayasuriya! He slots in at one for my team, to fill all the above gaps

As for the lottery, quite simply the man with the worst bowling average in ODI cricket history (after adjustement)- Pommie Mbangwa
Fun fact: third on that list is Aislabie's dip nomination for this round, Mluleki Nkala

@Aislabie for the lottery

LOTTERY FOUR

@Aislabie - :zim: :ar: Mluleki Nkala
Aaaand I've got my own nomination again. Not ideal, but I guess he's batting at eight for me.

@ddrap14 - :ind: :bat: Rohan Gavaskar
He may not have been able to cope with the shadow cast by his father, but Rohan Gavaskar was a good accumulator.

@CerealKiller - :zim: :bwl: Pommie Mbangwa
Perhaps he can commentate the game for everyone else in the changing room?

@Parth D - :ban: :bat: Mohammad Ashraful
This is a really good result - he was one of the most inconsistent of all international batsmen, but he had some of the highest highs of any Bangladeshi.

@qpeedore - :ban: :ar: Sanwar Hossain
Eh... he was basically Naeem Islam but worse.

@El Loco - :ken: :ar: Tony Suji
There aren't many players who've played as specialist tail-enders, but Tony Suji did it repeatedly over the course of like a decade.

I've got the first Round Five pick, will make it in a moment

:pak: :bwl: Shoaib Akhtar

ODI stats
- 247 wickets @ 24.97 (econ: 4.76, 4 5WI, best 6/16) in 163 matches
List A stats - 338 wickets @ 25.21 (econ: 4.81, 7 5WI, best 6/16) in 221 matches

I wanted another outright fast bowler, and now I have the fastest of them all (as far as we know). The Rawalpindi express will be running in from the sight screen and bowling flat out at your lottery pulls. At the other end, Joel Garner. Replacing one of them, Andrew Flintoff. I do hope this won't be too much of a problem.

Aislabie's XI so far:
1. :wi: :wkb: Andre Fletcher (top-order hitter)
2. :sco: :bat: Mike Allingham (anchor I guess)
3.
4. :aus: :ar: Andrew Symonds (middle-order hitter/stock bowler)
5. :eng: :ar: Andrew Flintoff (middle-order hitter/attacking bowler)
6. :wi: :ar: Garfield Sobers (middle-order hitter/attacking bowler)
7.
8. :zim: :ar: Mluleki Nkala (firefighter/stock bowler)
9. :ber: :wk: Kwame Tucker (gloveman)
10. :wi: :bwl: Joel Garner (death bowler)
11. :pak: :bwl: Shoaib Akhtar (express pace bowler)

And my nomination for the lottery...

1622029478376.png

:nam: :ar: Gerrie Snyman

ODI stats
- 5 runs @ 1.25 (SR: 55.55, best 5) and 6 wickets @ 46.83 (econ: 5.85, best 3/69) in 5 matches
List A stats - 3,948 runs @ 34.63 (SR: 91.55, 4 centuries, best 196) and 109 wickets @ 30.68 (econ: 4.63, 1 5WI, best 5/36) in 130 matches

Gerrie Snyman's entry into ODI cricket as a 21-year-old at the 2003 World Cup was absolutely dire; almost nothing he touched went right. Despite this, he spent the remainder of his career being one of his country's two best-ever cricketers, only to call time on his international career months before they regained ODI status - all of which means that he has one of the most unrepresentative ODI records in cricket history.

@ddrap14 - you're up again

1.
2. :aus: :wk: Adam Gilchrist (top-order hitter / gloveman)
3. :wi: :ar: Viv Richards (top-order hitter / stock bowler)
4. :can: :bat: Zubin Surkari (anchor)
5.
6.
7. :eng: :ar: Michael Yardy (firefighter / stock bowler)
8. :ken: :ar: Tony Suji (passenger)
9. :ire: :bwl: Paul Mooney (passenger)
10. :sri: :bwl: Muttiah Muralitharan (attacking bowler)
11. :aus: :bwl: Glenn McGrath (death bowler)

Honestly, considering those two absolute passengers in your tail your team actually looks alright. You're probably one attacking/express bowler short, and you probably need that bowler to be an all-rounder - but fortunately you've only got one more lottery pick to squeeze in there so I'm guessing you'll be crossing fingers for Gerrie Snyman

That Mbangwa lottery pick massively screwed me. Was looking to pick a spinner. Guess will have to settle for the odd over by Patel. And if I get another bowler in the lottery, game over for my batsmen.

If push came to shove, you could potentially have a sacrificial opening pair of Omar and Patel to facilitate a more powerful middle-order from three to seven or eight that wouldn't have to face a moving white ball.
