The Official Derbyshire CC Thread

KP does have the talent, but on his day no one can outdo Afridi for the amount of devastation that can be caused to a bowling attack! I've once had him hit Plunkett for 6 fours in a row (as I've mentioned before). His bowling is vastly under-rated; he is one of the best bowlers for me at Lancs. I've had KP bowl against me a few times- Is he any good?

Thanks to some fabulous performances from Dean, Afridi, North and Spendlove (Another 200!), I have managed to promote to Division one in the National League, and scrape 2 wins in my last 3 CC games! Paget impressed as well, and Goddard had a great run with the bat towards the end with a century, two fifties, and several quick knocks at the end of the innings in the OD games.
My squad for Season 3 is as attatched. Moss also got some batting form with 3 fifties in FC cricet and two in OD, as well as two fifers in the OD games. :)

OUT: France, Stubbings, Havell, Lungley, Hunter, Botha (Sadly), Sutton, maybe more whom I forgot.

IN:
Jerome Taylor - West Indies quickie. Second NT player, bolsters the bowling.
M Harrison - Youth. Career bowling average in the low twenties, economy of 2.99 in second team cricket. Last season's average was 16, economy between 2.5 and 3. Can't wait to try him out.
Moore and Shelly - Youth keeper/batsmen. Both had decent batting stats (On 36, one 44), so signed them.
Ben Senior - Computer added him as I didn't have enough players.
Denly - Had to sign a batsman and had very little cash left in hand, so got him cheap.
Benning - Same as above.
C Taylor - Ditto.

So my bowling looks great, with a seam attack of Dean, Taylor and Harrison, with Paget and Afridi the spinners. Batting still a little weak, but I'm hoping Denly Benning and Taylor out perform France, Stubbings and Sutton.

I'm having a great run with Derbs currently. Won two CC games and on OD game. Lost and drawn nothing :)
Spendlove scored a 163 in one game, C.Taylor has got 2 FC centuries, 1 FC fifty and a OD fity :) On century was a match winning one as I chased down a required 280 odd on a bad pitch with 6 wickets left and 45 minutes to spare :)
The OD game was a thriller. Needed 28 from 24 with Dean and Moss batting, only Harrison and Taylor to come. But Dean hit two fours in the 49th over off Bresnan and I won 3 balls into the final over. Real thriller! Spendlove got a good knock there too.
North has done well, Harrison has been realy good too. Afridi's been excellent with the ball, Dean has been good, Hewson and Bassano have been pretty decent. Paget has been dissapointing, might drop him and play one of Moore/Shelly/Goddard as a pure keeper. Taylor has been OK, not as good as he can be.
But it's been great. Denly and Benning haven't been needed, everything has been clicking and it's great. :)
