Hey
Well, being an avid cricket fan living in a smalltown in the US is depressing. No one to play with, no one to even bowl at you, no training whatsoever.
So i've gone with the good 'ole ball in the sock "training". For those of you that don't know, its when you put a cricket ball in a sock and tie it to the ceiling and practice defence/straight drives/knock your bat in.
How good is this for basic technique training purposes? Is it even ment for training at all, or only for knocking bats in?

You take a string and tie it to the sock and tie the other end of the string to the ceiling...

You Zorax's brother or something? :p

What do you mean by that :p

I can actually say ive never tried the old sock trick, but i do have a very decent back yard with a wall that has red marks all over it :p

And, if i did try the sock thing, im the kind of player who if my innings isnt fast it isnt successful :p so i think i'd bring the roof down with the way i block :p i once blocked a four, although it was against THE faster bowler ive faced since ive strapped on the pads and taken to batting.

That is the funniest thing I've heard all day...........you can't imagine how funny it looks from my view hahah reps for you Will.

Oh and to stay on topic my uncle told me this when I got a new bat a few years ago........and no I did't tie them to the celling I just put a ball in a sock and bashed my bats brains out!

Cheaper to practise then :p its ?12.50 down the indoor nets for non-members :p

never tried the ball in a sock method, but i'd recommend using a golf ball on a string, helps your timing and ability to find the middle

Hey! I'm offended

Anyways, I think this isn't good for ones technique, and is used for knocking in bats. That's what I used it for anyways.
