I'm honestly staggered that my last pick was still available. The first great leg-spinner and the first great New Zealand cricketer, Clarrie Grimmett had to cross the Tasman to pursue his dream of Test cricket because for New Zealand, that opportunity hadn't been granted yet. As a result, Grimmett's career was a bit delayed; he didn't make his Test debut until he was 33 years of age. Despite that, Grimmett went on to break Sydney Barnes' 22-year-old record for the most Test wickets ever taken, setting a mark of 216 wickets that would not be broken for a further 17 years.

In 31% of innings in which he bowled, Grimmett returned five or more wickets. In 19% of matches in which he played, Grimmett returned ten or more wickets - his mark of seven such ten-wicket matches has so far been bested only by Murali, Warne, Hadlee, Herath and Kumble. This is despite 450 players having played more than Grimmett's 37 Tests. One can only wonder at what might have been if he'd been able to play Test cricket sooner.

1. :eng: :bat: Jack Hobbs (61 caps)
2. :eng: :ar: Wilfred Rhodes (58 caps)
3. :eng: :bat: Wally Hammond (85 caps)
4. :aus: :bat: Steven Smith (92 caps)
5. :wi: :ar: Garfield Sobers (93 caps)
6. :pak: :ar: Imran Khan (88 caps)
7. :saf: :wk: Quinton de Kock (54 caps)
8. :nzf: :ar: Richard Hadlee (86 caps)
9. :aus: :ar: Alan Davidson (44 caps)
10. :wi: :bwl: Malcolm Marshall (81 caps)
11. :aus: :bwl: Clarrie Grimmett (37 caps)

I'm not entirely happy with @Verified Enigma for taking VVDB (also pick in my draft Parth), but I got bailed out a little by Aislable, who suggested over a couple other options to take Frank Tarrant. I don't need a ton of batting quality at 8 (but 36 average does the trick), but it's a FC average of 17 with the ball that does the job.

1. :ind: :bat: Sunny Gavaskar
2. :saf: :bat: Barry Richards
3. :sri: :wkb: Kumar Sangakkara
4. :eng: :bat: Ken Barrington
5. :wi: :bat: Everton Weekes
6. :aus: :bat: Michael Clarke
7. :eng: :ar: Ian Botham
8. :aus: :ar: Frank Tarrant
9. :wi: :bwl: Joel Garner
10. :sri: :bwl: Murali
11. :pak: :bwl: Waqar Younis

Probably have one too many #4 batsman, but otherwise happy. A scary bowling attack, and a very good (and slightly underrated) batting lineup that goes arguably to 9.

:ind: :bat: Virender Sehwag (104 caps)
:aus: :bat: David Warner (101 caps)
:wi: :bat: Vivian Richards (121 caps)
:pak: :bat: Mohammad Yousuf (90 caps)
:saf: :wkb: AB de Villiers (114 caps)
:eng: :ar: Ben Stokes (89 caps) :c:
:ind: :ar: Ravindra Jadeja (61 caps)
:wi: :bwl: Michael Holding (60 caps)
:ind: :bwl: Jasprit Bumrah (30 caps)
:saf: :bwl: Kagiso Rabada (58 caps)
:eng: :bwl: Jimmy Anderson (177 caps)

That's my lineup, happy with my squad, especially with my top 7.
In bowling we have fab 4 of Jimmy, Holding, Bumrah & Rabada with company of greats such as Stokes & Jaddu.
Sir Viv & Sehwag can be used in spin friendly conditions for bowling, as they have combined 72 test wickets.
Holding, Bumrah & Rabada can contribute with bat, if need.
Stokes will lead the side.

Thanks for the unique draft @Aislabie really enjoyed building this squad in middle of hectic work pressure.
