Match Presentation

Mark Nicholas: Hello and welcome to the Gatorade Match Presentation. What a display by the Sri Lankans here in Kandy, but first we are going to talk to West Indian captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Sri Lanka played really well today Shiv.

SC: Yes they did Mark. They batted, bowled and fielded really well, but unfortunatley for us I don't think we played to the best of our abilities.

MN: Any positives you can draw from this game?

SC: Yes. I think we can learn from our mistakes and show the world that the West Indies can be a great cricketing country like it was in the 70's and 80'################: Thanks for talking to us Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Next up is winning captain Marvan Atapattu. Your boys played really well today. Any reason for this?

MA: Yeah, they stuck to our stratergies we had set and we executed them with perfection. Personally I think we played great.

MN: You were out for 49 today and so was Sanath. Did that hurt you alot?

MA: Yes it did. I really wanted to get a 50 or a 100 and unfortunatley I just missed out and I was quite angry when I went back in the pavilion but then it all settled down.

MN: Thanks for talking with us today Marvan Atapattu and last but not least it is today'##### of the match, Nuwan Zoysa, with match figures of 9/58 off 21.3 overs. What was it like bowling out there today?

NZ: It was great. The wicket was crubling so there was some cracks in the picture and I just aimed at them and thankfully I got some wickets.

MN: You were one wicket short of a 10 wicket match. Were you angry dissapointed afterwards?

NZ: No definetly no. Chaminda got 8 wickets I think so I out numbered him there so there is nothing to be annoyed about.

MN: Thanks for talking to us today. Ladies and gentlemen, today'##### of the match Nuwan Zoysa!

Both teams agreed that it wasn't safe to play and the ICC agrees with them. All players said they were dissapointed that they couldn't play the second test match, but they all said they didn't want to risk injuries or worse, death. People that had tickets to the second test match will be refunded there money 100% as soon as possible. The test match won't be up at any later stage and the Sri Lankans win the test match series 1-0.

Below: This picture shows how bad the wind and rain was, forcing the ICC to call of the Second Test between the West Indies and Sri Lanka.

Thanks everyone who has posted in this thread. I wanted to try something different by having the series end short. This is my first offically completed story and I am pretty proud of it. I probably win a award for shortest story in posts and time taken, but I hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I wrote it.

:cheers,
