I came to know about your problem with the saved game in one of your threads. Always, its better to have a saved game as a backup.

Anyways, good luck with this.

So it was Monday Morning, my first day with Kent. I drove into the carpark at Canterbury and nearly knocked over Geraint Jones as he got out of his car. After a hasty apology and an explanation on who I was we walked into the ground together. Jamie Nicholas was there to greet me,
"Right lads, as some of you may have noticed we have a new lad with us today, his name is Tom Baker and I hope you all make him feel welcome." After brief introductions we all sat around and learned what we would be doing today. It would be mostly a nets session. As we strode out there, I got chatting to Simon Cook. He asked a bit about me and I told him about my self.

When the session started it went brilliantly for me, when I clean bowled Matty Walker first ball much to his annoyance as he had to take all the jeers from the rest of the players. The rest of the session went well. Some of the selectors turned up and watched me bowl and I think I gave a good account of myself.

After lunch I had a bit of a bat. This did not go as well as I top edged a couple of pull shots and had my middle stump removed by Martin Saggers. Rob Key gave me a few tips concerning my bat lift and the session ended much better than it had begun. With the first Match against Derbyshire rapidly approaching and the team to go up soon, I really wanted to impress the selectors. It had been a very hard days work and so I was pleased that the debriefing ended quickly and I was able to go home to fall straight asleep.

Can the Rookie Make the Team?

First Match of the Season

Monday 19th March 2007

I arrived at the grounds this morning to find that the team had been put up for the match against Derbyshire on Thursday. I approached the board with trepidition to see whether I had been included.

I HAD!!!!!!!!!!

I was so pleased. I was congratulated by everyone including those hod hadn't been picked, and the Chief of Selectors came over and congratulated me saying I had really impressed him in the nets recently, and believed I had a lot of potential. Here was the rest of the squad:

Derbyshire v Kent Team

1) Rob Key (c)
2) David Fulton
3) Geraint Jones (wk)
4) Martin van Jaarsveld
5) Matt Walker
6) Andrew Hall
7) Tom Baker
8) Darren Stevens
9) Simon Cook
10) Amjad Khan
11) Martin Saggers

Coach leaves at 7:30a.m. on Thursday morning. Don't be late!!

So I had been picked for my first ever professional match and would be batting at Number eight. Hopefully I would be able to get a few wickets or at least keep it itght and so impress the skip and the selectors. I suddenly felt very nervous but Cooky somone who I had really built a good relationship with took me aside.
"Congrats Tom. You've really got to back those guys up who wanted you to play in this match. You may have noticed we have no spinners in the side. That won't always be so someone will be losing their place next time. Make sure it isn't you."

So I had been picked for my first match. Hopefully I would perform well and make my team proud. I really can't wait to put on my Kent jersey for the first time

Don't worry, it isn't going to be like that. I'm playing all the matches manually and might not even make it the season if I play badly. We will have to see

Nice to know, I hope you fail :p
(joke) Actually it would be nice for you to have a few successful seasons for Kent before England comes into the equation in my opinion.
