Im using Somerset, i normally bowl out the opposition in the first innings for 200-300, but second innings they always scoree 400-500. I bowl to batsmens weakness, i use 4 bars of agrression early on against an unsettled batsmen, and play the 4th out 5th most aggressive field settings untill they reach 20 or so. Works wonders in the first innings, but come second innings they seem to become super human, and every bowler goes at 5-6 an over no matter what. This has happend in 7 first class matches now. I know somerset suck in game, but surely not this bad. Is there something i am doing wrong?

this is just the way icc 3 works, your not doing anything especially wrong, its just the way icc 3 plays, id just suggest playing 2 spinners and useing them round the wicket in the 2nd innings, seems to work with me

I have suspected for a while now that fatigue plays a big role in all International Cricket Captain games.

If a bowler has already bowled over 50-60 overs in a first-class match, he is very unlikely to get wickets at 4-5 aggression bars, for the rest of the same match.

Instead, he probably should be bowled at 1/2/3 aggression bars, but you can still keep an attacking field by clicking on the field diagram next to each batsman, then selecting the field you want.

In the second innings, the pitch deteriorates, so you should still get wickets with 1 or 2 aggression bars.

Few tips from which works for me.............

1 Keep aggression at 2-3 bars at all times in 2 innings.

2 Dont keep a too aggresive field since they leak out runs.Go for the middle one especially since your bowlers are tired.

3 Bowl leg spinner from around the wicket.

4 Keep rotating your bowlers after very 5-6 overs spell.Keep doing something new incase there is a good partnership.

5 Change bowlers in such a way that the bowling end change for the other bowler. It helps to break partnership and get well settled batsman out.Eg. Munday & Rashid is bowling and you want to change munday so bring the new bowler from Rashid's end and then bring Rashid from mundays end

6 Keep looking at the weather if dark clouds are there the dont bowl spinner instead bowl RM bowler even a part timer with outside off stump field.

This all works for me and I hope it will for you too......

good tip, medium pacers are very useful in icc 3, get dale benkenstein, whos a south african kolpak player, as soon as possible, a RM allrounder whos great with the bat and takes buckets of wickets when theres any cloud cover

Well i kept with it. I have won one game out of 9 played in the cc, i have lost all 3 games in the pro 40 so far, and i lost all but 2 or 3 of my 50 over one day games.
However somehow i won the twenty twenty cup. Worst season for me ever, but at least i won something.

Haha, what a season gas! Yeah, in my first season with Hampshire, I was shocking really.

I finished 2nd in the second division (CC). Finished last in Pro 40. Knocked out first round in 20/20. Then last in the 50 overs, which led to relegation!

But after a season off, and some good recruiting (Rikki Clarke, Michael Clarke, Anthony Davies and others), I was able to turn it around and won the 1st division CC, won the Pro 40, played crap in the 20/20's but won the 50 overs. So if you recruit well, and hang on to Michael Munday, you would come back next season and be dominant. Good Luck.

Munday seems crap in icc 3, no way near what he was like in the other one.
