The umpires and officials suggested playing the few remaining overs of the match the following day, despite Australia being in an unassailable position.

Eventually, those overs were bowled in near pitch blackness.

Actually, it was in complete disregard of the rules than the Australian's unassailable position. I believe as soon as 20 overs have been completed by each side the match is fit to be completed and decided on the basis of D/L. Only if 20 overs have not been completed does the reserve day come into action.

The target had already been adjusted by Duckworth/Lewis due to rain, but the issue they encountered towards the end of the match was bad light, which confused them.

Umpiring has been poor, especially with the interpretation of wides.

Several bouncers which went down the leg side weren't given wides, but when a spinner just drifted down the pads (almost grazing it) it was given wides.

Also wides on the off side have been very inconsistently given.

i dont know why Aleem Dar is not in the list of umpires......he was a good umpire too.....
