An updated roster.pak has been released. This will give most the English/Australian/South African and some of the Indian players the correct bats. It also includes Shane Warne edited into the game (can be deleted if desired :P)
This saves the need for making copies of players to change the bat, and then having two versions of one player.

Download it from Cricket2004.co.uk

I dont have to 2GB Bat pack so could u tell me which bat is wat number, that is which is bat01, bat02.......bat34. I tried downloading the cricket2004.co.uk 2gb bat pack but it says file not found.

The readme is easy to understand...
Just copy the roster.pak to your my documents/EA sports/Cricket2004/tutsi (if your profile is called tutsi)

Just back up first, which is a good idea with any patch you install.

wait one second..u said the plays would all have their new bats...but u dont have ihsan and most of pak uses ihsan(farhat, hameed, inzi and youhana did in their early days but moved on...even zim use...heath streak scored a century with that bat)

could u please accomadate this bat in the release and just give all pak/zim players it...thanx

It seems that u have concentrated on the bats that England, Aus, South Africa and NZL use. Can u please tell me how u updated the roster? if u could temm me then i would be able to update the bats for subcontinental players. Laxman no longer uses the 281 bat. If u looked at new pics he also uses Britannia like most of the Indian team. So please just tell me how u opened the roster.pak file and I will update it myself.

It does say in my post that I concentrated on Eng/Aus/SA this time (with a few Indian bats).
You can edit it yourself by opening roster.pak in a hex editor and changing the value shown in the screen to the bat you want. Be careful if you have no experience of hex editing as it is easy to mess up the file.

Thanks for the info, but I have no experience with hex editing. I do however know wat hex is. Maybe ill try it. I will keep a backup file.

Colin, can you change anything in the roster.pak file to change the default lineups? Possibly there is like an order of preference, because it poohs me when you lose a batsmen and a B.Hogg is put in for the injured player at number 3 or something!

Cheers

Andrew

Squiz ... i know you can change the batting order in the game when u are playing, what i mean is to change the default line up so that when we pick a team, it stays picked, and if you lose a player to injury like ponting, you dont get the next person in the squad order as the default player, in my case hogg

hope this clears things up

The one thing you might be able to do is swap Hogg's squad position with someone else so that they become the replacement.

is it easy to change the default line up for odi's and tests or do you need to have to know how to hex edit really well?
