Warne finally hits first century

That was recently (against Pakistan?). People were amazed because McGrath doesn't even have 100 to his name in ODI cricket. That is in aggregate (probably does, now). Yes, but he did get that 50 and I think he was promoted to number 10 immediately afterwards.
You mean aainst New Zealand. Thats where Gillespie got his maiden 50 as well.

And he dosen't have a hundred.Anywhere. His 61 is his highest first class score and only his second 50 in any form of cricket(maybe apart from grade cricket).

McGrath's 61 or rather McGrath and Gilllespie's partnership was sensational; it was one of those things you don't often get to see regardless of who is bowling against them; 9 and 11 just don't get very far unless someone is smiling on them. Mind you, McGrath has seriously improved his batting whereas Warne has pretty much always been that guy, waiting to hatch out of his shell (even if it was just 99 going on 100).

Glenn McGrath is a good batter, and has improved greatly on how he used to bat. And for those who say that they can have a better average that 7.5 in test matches is fantasising too much. Yes he scored 61, and Gillespie scored 54. McGrath scored lots faster than Dizzy (for those who say he is a billion times better a batsman), and hit Vettori for the Steve Waugh slog-sweep for six over midwicket. That partnership was one of the most brilliant ythings I've seen, and is among the records for 10th wicket partnerships (over 110 runs!).

But back to Warne, he is a great batter, and those who were watching the Allan Border Medal (Australian player of the year award, prob. only people in Australia watched it) would know that Darrel Hair was a bit flustered, and caught up in the moment to realise that Vettori bowled a no-ball on that very ball that got Warne out!!! This was the first time this footage had ever been seen, ever! To get a hundred is great for him, and now he might be able to get one this Ashes !!! And as for his retirement, a recent newspaper/cricinfo report says he has NO retirement plans
