Scotland will also be in the UAE, to face Afghanistan.

They welcome an influx of new players including veteran all-rounder Neil Carter and Northants 'keeper David Murphy. The latter can look forward to a long career with the Scots, and he will fill the long-term void left by Colin Smith that has been insufficiently filled by Hussain, Smith (Simon), Petrie, Wallace and Maiden, among others.

The potential of this tournament is very good . I think Ireland get a good experience out there .

But there ought to be some sort of incentive to the team winning the WCL 1st Div. Maybe they get a chance to play Zimbabwe and Bangladesh the next year. I agree that the ICC is doing a lot more than what it used to do for the Associates. However, they need a bit more than that and probably the WCL sides should be playing BD and ZIM for overall development of cricket worldwide.
