West Indies were well on their way to victory after a good start by Hinds and Gayle. But with on wicket down, the falling run rate was boosted by a huge six by Lara but, he was dismissed the very next ball. Sarwan came in and was looking good. But Gayle, who never looked set, was embarassed by Chandana, bowling over the wicket. He shuffled far to much and his leg stump was knocked back.
Then the rain came. In the first instance it help the Sri Lankans get away from another firey innings by Samuels, who hit two sixes out of the ground towards the airport. Two overs were lost and 7 runs were taking off the target. But then when play resumed Samuels didn't stop. Sarwan drived to sweep Murali and got a strange bottom edge to slip, he walked.
Shortly after, when Samuels and Powell were cruising along slowly, more rain came. This time, 6 overs were lose and 26 runs were taken off. And the time the rain fell, the score was at 150-4 and when play resumed, 10 of 36 was needed and was achieved easily.
