I think this is the right forum...

I've got a couple of mp3s of songs I like. I need to play drums to these songs for an assessment. But the catch is, these songs aren't allowed to have drums audible in the track.

So, I believe it is possible to filter or eq out most of the sound of the drums (it doesn't have to be totally removed just as greatly reduced as possible).

Is there anyone on here who has some sort of program who could do this for me. I'll give reps, vcash whatever you want.

Please post in the thread if you think you can do it and i'll give you the tracks.

Thanks

Hmm.. taking out vocal lyrics is not a big task.

But I reckon your problem is to remove the karaoke for that song and have only the vocal lyrics. Am I right?

Ah no I want the whole track, except the drums.

Just imagine the band is playing a song, but the drummer forgot to turn up!

(That's actually quite realistic!) :laugh

you'll be able to do that in Adobe Audition 3

Open any music file and go to Effects-> Center Channel Extractor ->Select the Full Reset preset and then adjust the center channel level to -48dB and Crossover to 53.5% and you are done.

I Hope this helps

If you are good enough, the teacher won't even know there were drums audible in the track. ;)

I have to provide my teacher with the track I'll be playing to, so I'm afraid that won't cut it!

Um yeah I don't have that program... Any chance you'd be able to do it if I gave you the two tracks?

Audacity is mean for working with audio files :) Not so sure if it would be able to filter out drums but it's a good program to have regardless
