Hi All,
Tried this before when I first signed up here. However, the difficulties of doing it on Cricket Captain became too difficult. However, that was before I'd even heard of Syedur Rahman's Cricket Simulator, let alone used it in WoC.
I have been doing some background work with AI this time to set this up based on everything I have come across while using this website.
Sign-up's now available:
Pitch Rules: Managers have the right to chose which grounds host any match in each home series. They do not have to use every possible ground that is on their list. HOWEVER, only one ground can be a host in all 7 of their home series. (for example, if the Australian manager has a home game at the MCG in every home series, then every other ground will have to miss 1 series). The exception to that is for whoever manages England. For them, Lord's HAS to be that ground and has to host a match in every home series (because #homeofcricket).
All grounds for a series have to be announced before squads are named for the round.
Squads: Managers will have turn their long-list into a tournament squad of 30. Of which, they have to include at least 3 named wicket-keepers (these don't have to be recognised keepers but do have to have the ability to be 'part-time keepers' e.g. Ollie Pope). They have the right to include 1 player who isn't on that long-list in their 30 should they wish. After that, no-one outside that 30-man squad is allowed to be picked. When picking the initial 30-man squad, they must pick a captain & vice captain. Barring injury, this captain MUST play every game. In the case of injury, the VICE-captain must then play.
However, each manager can 'sack' their captain once during the competition. This can only happen after two consecutive series that have not been won. They can then appoint anyone else in the 30-man squad as captain and appoint a new vice captain (if the original vice is not the new captain, the manager can decide whether to keep them or change vice-captain too).
For each series, team managers will have to pick an 18 man squad from that includes 2 named wicket-keepers (see above rule about who can be named a WK). All XI's for that series then come from that 18-man squad.
Injuries: TBC (Fast & Seam/Swing bowlers will be more susceptible to injuries if playing multiple tests in a row in the series).
See below for series/schedules and Overall point scoring rules.
- League Winners will host the Finals series over a 5 Test Series
- Play-offs will see 4th play away at 3rd in a 3 Test series and winner will play away at 2nd in a 4 test series. (Draws in play-off series will see Home Side Qualify)
