Kiwis unstoppable

After a shaky first half hour, Mark Richardson has become the first player since Indias Mohammad Azzaradin to go from 0-100 in a single session. After survivng 5 overs scratching for singles Richardson decided to go all out and it worked to perfection, slaughtering all four pacemen; McGrath, Gillespie, Lee and Bichel. When Sinclair was bowled by Lee for 32 many thought the runrate would slow, but were proven wrong when Stephen Fleming hooked his first ball for six. Richardson just kept going hitting two balls into the third teir of the 'Gabba and reached his century off just 66 Balls.

Brute Power

In a display of brute force Matthew Richardson and New Zealand have smashed records at the Gabba'. At tea the score is 4/435, with Richardson on 229 and new to the crease Cairns on 8. Richardson has taken the bowling apart with a 6 off an over becoming a standard feature rather than a novelty. Andy Bichel and Brett Lee have taken most of the damage with 1/160 and 2/136 respectively. Gillespie has troubled the batsman most even inducing an edge from Richardson, but such his luck it went for four. Lee finally broke the 150+ run partnership between Richardson and McMillian with an edge to second slip to get McMillan for 72. Earlier in the session Fleming fell for 63 and Astle for 15 off Bichel and McGrath respectively and both caught by Hayden.

Richardson 229*
Cairns 8*

Gillespie 0/84
McGrath 1/39
Bichel 1/160

Richardson takes Aussie to School

Mark Richardson has smashed 303 for New Zealand as he helped them to a score of all out for 554. Richardson took the bowling to pieces hitting 29 fours and 24 sixes in 228 Balls. He smashed anything that was slightly off the perfect length, one ball in particular he took from outside off stump and smashed it over mid-on for six. With Fleming and McMillan providing support it was the Matty Richardson as he gave lessons on how to dance and smash. With such a high first innings score, it seems unlikely anything but a New Zealand win is likely.

New Zealand All Out for 554

M.Richardson 303
S.Bond 0*

G.McGrath 2/53 (8.4ov.)
J.Gillespie 2/144 (22ov.)
B.Lee 2/148 (20ov.)
A.Bichel 1/181 (23ov.)
S.MacGill 0/3 (1ov.)
