Yet More Problems :(

Ok, my CD Drive has decided that it doesnt wan't to play anymore.

I have put my CD in, tried every one i have but doesnt work. I put in CM 2007, it comes to the screen saying Play aswell as uninstall and all that crap, i press play, my CD Drive sounds like its booting up and then dies down. I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and i find that my laptop is reading the exe. file but doing nothing more.

Any ideas anyone? Id really appreciate it..

Sounds like a dodgy disc to me Simbazz. Is it scratched?

Nope, i take care of them...Plus ive tried every single game i have on PC, it is read by the drive as i can access it going through my computer.

Does the CD drive read other things? Try playing an Audio CD for instance.

Yes it read a DVD last night. And i watched it fully

this might be a problem with autoplay....
Also, it may be that your drive cant read cd's anymore ? only dvd's ? Try some other cd's.

That is possible, the laser has to focus differently to read CD's or DVD's.

No all games i cannot play.

I thought it was just my new CM2007, so i uninstalled it and re-installed it and i still couldnt play on it. I tried all other games, the drive is reading then but not clicking on to play them.

IS ur computer getting hanged while inserting the disc

Most probably you have been affected by Star Force protection running in conjuction with a Virtual Emulation software or Nero etc. if you can post a screenshot of your desktop and possibly a pic of list of programs installed on your PC, I might come to a conclusion.
