Ok you may think who cares its old but thhe following passage of text is some major screwige :p and I didnt expect this to happen read on.....

Ok a few weeks ago I felt to play Cricket 04 PS2 version I had bought ages ago......well it sucked, so I wanted it on the PC to add a little realisim with Patches etc.

So then I was going to order on Play.com but then I thoght mhhhh HMV have it for ?10.00 and its well HMV trust worthy and all, you know the high security smarmey?

So my mum ordered it for me and i chose the standard delievery 3-4 days, them days passed and I though ok maybe next a week passed then I went to the complaint bit that they sent me to ask queries in and didnt get a reply and its been weeks I havnt got my game it was in stock and all and basically, its taking the piss we paid for it fair and square, paid for what? nothing weve basically given them ?10 for free I am dissapointed in this because i thought HMV were all top notch and crap yet they cant send a game which yes is old but it was still on their list.

What can I do about this? Below is the order obviously I cut out my address etc...btw, does anyone know how I can directly contact them without ringing them up, like email etc?

:help

Aww, that sucks :(
Ringing them up is the best way to do it, its not that hard, as long as you be assertive but not get aggressive at them they should help you. HMV are a decent store, sad to hear this.

yeah they are a decent store...a touch expensive...but yeah...ring them up...only way to solve this...

You can call them and then possibly ask for their email and send that to them.

Sometimes thing like these happen, just bad luck sometimes.

According to their website you can just cancel the order in "my orders" and you wont be charged.

Correct but from my understanding the payment has already gone through. So i definatly know that cancelling it would have no effect.

They shouldn't take payment until the object is shipped, thats their usual policy.

Usually yes, but Punk said,

So im guessing that usual policy isnt used here. I think that with an email address a copy of the transaction from your mom's bank account would be enough for them to see your not lying. Usually places like them send there items Recorded Delivery so im guessing it hasnt been signed for anywere

You wont have been charged yet.

Special Order

If an item is out of stock at the time you place your order, we will request the goods from our suppliers. Most items from major suppliers should be received at our warehouse within 3 to 10 days. We keep in close contact with our suppliers and place orders with most of them on a daily basis.

If your order status is 'Special Order' then you can rest assured that the utmost is being done to acquire your item, though delays may occur if the item is out of stock with the suppliers. We are unable to provide you with an exact date that the ordered item will reach us.

You will not be charged until the item comes into stock and is ready to be shipped.

Ahh it is clearer to me now, so basically whats happened is a delay on the package rather than stealing money for no item.

Im not too bothered about the money but boy a delay nearly 2 months :( I still want 04 lol.

I may cancel and order of Play.com is that easier or more reliable?

Btw, thanks Kev for telling me (us) that money hasnt been paid yet ;)

if you ring them up youll get a good result. its a lot easier for people to palm off an email. its definatly harder to deal with a customer that is on the phone and wont be palmed off. just ring them and ask a customer rep to sort it out for you while your on the phone

Play.com are far more reliable than HMV. They are also nearly always cheaper.

In fact being such an old game, it may even be worth popping into a local games shop or two to see if they have it in their bargain bins, unlikely, but you never know.
