Welcome to the Second match of Asia Cup 2006 at Dhaka between Bangladesh and Sri lanka. Most of the people would have booked their money on Sri lanka but anything can happen in one day cricket and with Bangladesh its highly possible. Bangladesh would surely be confident after a good show against Australia although they lost all the test matches but spirit was definitely there. Sri lanka are the last champions and would definitely be favoirites in the match.

The match is going to be day night and the pitch looks very dusty can be run fest for both the teams. Winning toss could be very crucial as it would make a lot of difference batting under the lights.

The latest news from ground is that Bangladesh have won the toss and without any doubt decided to bat first. Bangladesh would definitely be looking to post a big score looking at their standard bowling lineup. For Sri Lanka, Murlitharan is back and batting lineup is filled with 7 specialist batsmen.

Sri lanka restricts Bangladesh to 236

Bangladesh has finished their inning with 236 for 7 in 50 overs. Bngladesh should be disappointed with this total after all of its middle order got good starts but failed to convert them into big inning. It is clearly evident from the fact that 3 Bangla batsmen got into 40s and 2 into 30s but still none managed to past fifty.

Bangladesh had a good opening partnership between Nafees and Javed Omar but after that lost wickets regularly and never got the momentum to build on a good start. For Sri lanka Vaas was very economical in his 9 overs while Murlitharan didnt got the chance to bowl because of finger injury while feilding in covers. That must have been releif ffor banglas. Now Sri lanka needs 237 runs t win and if Bangladesh opening bowlers can get some early wickets, it could become a verytough ask for Lankans under lights.

Dont go anywhere and we will be soon back for Sri lankan reply.

Sri lankan openers Tharanga and Jayasuria are coming into the middle as Sri lanka get ready to chase target of 237 runs. This would turn out to be an excting match if Bangladesh can pick up some early wickets.

Good luck to both teams. I don't mind who wins this game. Good to see a Bangaladesh win.
