Australia tour of India 2023 - 4 Tests , 3 ODIs

This is exactly what I expected from Todd Murphy, it's great to see.

As for the all-rounder debate, Agar clearly isn't the answer at Test level. If the team really needed an all-rounder to replace Cam Green then it really ought to have been Hardie. No-one else really ticks both boxes, no matter how much I like Matt Short

The sweet legacy of giving the debutants a memorable outing continues - although to be fair to Todd, it seems like he richly deserves every bit of it if the commentary is anything to go by. He is outbowling Lyon too, so that's impressive.

This is the last recognized pair now. Would be great if we can stretch it beyond 150 but looks unlikely. Jadeja as a batsman has been a revelation since the last 2-3 years.

Only leftie to get past 50 balls on this pitch so far.
Post automatically merged:

Nevermind, Axar has also faced over 50 balls. Maybe the pitch isn't so bad and Aus just batted badly?

150 lead on this track is huge, India on top.

Another decent spinner Australia would have had India on the cards.

Unfortunately Lyon did not get his length nor speeds right throughout the Innings.

Its was just a Murphy show.

He's absolutely the best Test all-rounder of the last decade, and is in the conversation of all-time all-rounders too.

Only Imran Khan has a better batting (37.69) and bowling average (22.81) than Jadeja (37.52 and 24.40). Aubrey Faulkner is also in the same ballpark from a much smaller sample size.

If i remember correctly - a few years back Jadeja scored a couple of thriple hundreds in the Ranji Trophy to add to his already impressive stats. Even in ODI's - he seems to always be a very decent finisher/power-hitter. Always felt that he was under utlised in the batting division. Lets not forget - he made his name in the feilding aspect aswell. A true 21st Century cricketor.

Ironically, only a few years backs he used to be trolled with the Sir Jadeja tag and he has truly turned that tag around. Good on him.

India is going to bat only once in this test match. All the pitch talk outta the friggin' window. If India can score 300+ on this pitch, its not super hard or unplayable.

5 wickets and a possible century, on a comeback after 6 months!! Jadeja must surely be living his dream.

Good solid 2 days of cricket for India. Honestly didn't think we would be sitting on 150 lead, so kudos to Jadeja and Axar. Interestingly, both left handed batsmen looking comfortable and to think that they aren't even top order players speaks volumes of the effort they have put in.

Hold your horses mate. Even if Jadeja stays at the crease, there's literally no batting left if this partnership is broken #fingersCrossed

To be honest Australia lost the plot when all the pitch talks came out. Old India would be rattled, this INDIAN test side thanks to KOHSHA has been tremendous. Also a house full crowd is amazing to see.

Australia need to get out of the pitch talks and bat it out like mature peeps! Funny how every Australia or England series talking about pitch is more important. Previously they would rattle the players by riling them up, now its riling up the crowd lol!
