hey dude, what makes Srikkant's comments funny is the emphasis he puts on some words and ideas...some ideas are as funny as the pronunciation too...but one must say he has good intuition even in the studio...

In the 1970's, in India, there was a politician(then PM's son), who was desperate to introduce "one family two children norm" across the country(This is a true fact). My question is that what would have been the biggest ill-effect of this policy(had it been successfully implemented?)? This ain't a economic-political forum for India, I know that. If I have posted it in a cricket chat forum, thats what the question is being aimed at. I don't think people other than Indians will be able to answer this - but believe me this policy would have borne catastrophic effects on the world of cricket.

I'm not an Indian , but I think I can take a guess.... does Sachin Tendulkar by any chance have 2 older brothers/sisters?

well lol to be fair, no one would have ever known about Tendulakar so him no existing would affect no-one

man - you don't have enough imagination. Here's what I think would have been some of its effects:

1) The most important effect would be that Indian Field Hockey team would have been filled with good talented youngsters - simply because without him Indian cricket wouldn't have achieved this aura of a religion and more youngsters would have been drawn to other games.

2) Shane Warne's average against India would have been much better. His debut figures wouldn't have read 150 odd for 1. And he would have slept peacefully without any "nightmares".

3) Keeping every other player constant - Saurav Ganguly wouldn't have received the mantle of captaincy in 2000 and the 2001 series dubbed as the greatest test series ever would have not turned out that way.

4) The world would have not been able to see 70 beautiful tons. And 120 odd half tons.

5) Tony Greig's commentary would have been as phlegmatic as anybody else's.

These are just the starters.
