Since it's inception in 2012, Elite League: Australia (ELA) has been one of the most consistently running Australian leagues on this forum. After a well conducted inaugural season by @Aislabie, the reins of the league were handed over to @VC the slogger in 2013 who has been managing it ever since. The league is run on a yearly basis with one season being conducted every year, usually during the same time as the Australian domestic season which starts from the month of October and ends in late March.
ELA has been known to send powerful Australian sides into the PC Champions League. The best example of this is the all conquering West Coast Fever side, which under the stewardship of Fenil dominated the 12th season of the CL and clinched the title quite convincingly. It was said to be the strongest squad ever assembled in a nation-based cricket league in this section, even stronger than the legendary Basnahira Bears which was also managed by Fenil. Later, they would go on to win the PC Champion of Champions, a tournament featuring only CL-winning sides where they went undefeated to clinch the title.
However, team reshuffles and subsequent retirements of key players has resulted in West Coast's decline and the balance of power has shifted to the Queensland Firebirds and Sydney Roosters. The newly introduced Hobart Tigers also went on to cause the biggest stir in the league's history in Season V, by winning the coveted trophy on their first attempt and later winning Champions League XV. As a new era in Australian and international cricket dawns, ELA looks to provide the best Australian and international players with opportunities to showcase their skills in an intense six-team, ten round cricket tournament.
