KENT v RUTLAND
COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO
Rutland CCC's second first-class match started promisingly with a strong opening stand between Nasir Jamshed and Umair Nazim, who made half-centuries iin both innings.
Umair Nazim hit his first of two half-centuries in the match.
Thomas Sully bowled a superb spell with the new ball, but fell victim to a back injury that will see him miss the next three weeks of cricket. After that, the rest of the attack did their best to fill the void.
Rutland will be without Thomas Sully for three weeks.
Nasir Jamshed hit the first Championship century of Rutland's season, but was unable to force a result as rain claimed around two sessions of play.
International pedigree: Nasir Jamshed showed his class.

RUTLAND v NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO
Fadhl Rukanah put in a huge performance on first-class debut, single-handedly dismissing the entire Northants middle-order. The only other bowler who could get anything out of the wicket was VC Andrews; there was nothing for the rest of the attack.
Fadhl Rukanah was excellent on debut.
For the first time this season, the Rutland batsmen really fired. An innings built around Nasir Jamshed's class picked up all five bonus points, thanks to positivity from Khan and Prathik.
Nasir Jamshed carried on from the last game with a daddy-ton.
With the upper hand in the game, Rutland had the opportunity to push for the win. However, Rogerson couldn't use a wearing track, and the batsmen ended up just a few minutes away from claiming victory when bad light struck.
Agger attacked, but bad light cut the run-chase short.
