Mahela Jayawardena is pleased with ICC's decision of starting the new World Cricket Premier League. Jayawardena had earlier in an interview to cricinfo said that he wanted ICC to take a decision in which the revenues from the game will be shared by all the cricketing boards.

Yesterday ICC have done the needful by unveiling the new World Cricket Premier League which will take place instead of the Indian Premier League. The World Cricket Premier League will have a separate window in ICC yearly calender. The matches of the WCPL will be played during the two month break from international cricket in April-May in India.

Speaking to cricinfo editor Sambit Bal in Colombo, Jaywardena was pleased with the decision and also revealed that the revenue from the tournament will be shared by all the participating cricket boards. "I am very happy that the ICC has taken the decision and its good BCCI have agreed to it.

"Its good that the revenue from the tournament will be shared by all the cricketing boards. Its also great that ICC have given a separate window to the tournament and so the players wont have to miss their international matches. I am very excited to take part in the tournament and hoping it is successful like the IPL was."
